Open Thread 31 (free speech for comments)

Here's a new Open Thread.

Remember, off-topic comments should go in an Open Thread.

This hasn't been happening recently, as some commenters have been using blog posts as a "chat room," basically, so from now on I'm going to vow to do better at not approving comments submitted on a regular blog post if the comment doesn't deal with the subject of the post.

If you don't see a recent comment, or comments, posted, it's because you've failed to follow the above rule. Keep to the subject of a blog post if you leave a comment on it. And if you want to use this blog as a "chat room," do that in an open thread.

As noted before, it's good to have comments in a regular blog post related to its subject, and it's also good to have a place where almost anything goes in regard to sharing ideas, feelings, experiences, and such. That place is an Open Thread.

Leave a comment on this post about anything you want to talk about. Remember that I'm moderating comments, so it could take a while for your comment to be published. Almost every comment submitted to an Open Thread will be approved. Personal attacks on someone are an exception. Argue with ideas, not insults.

Though I haven't been doing too well on this, I'll try to remember to always have an Open Thread showing in the Recent Posts section in the right sidebar. If one isn't showing, I've added an Open Threads category in, naturally, the Categories section. You can always find an Open Thread that way.

So if you're a believer in some form of religion, mysticism, or spirituality, this is where you can put your "praise God," "praise Guru," or "praise _______" comments.

    An Ordinary Indian,
What you have to do with GSD? Are u his follower?

Time to start using the new thread, so adding here as well…
    @Trevor,
I just finished listening to the audiobook version of ‘Have a Little Faith’.
    Truly very beautiful and touching.
“I am in love with hope”. Yes, that sums it up perfectly. (And you can’t flip to the back of the book to read that when it’s an audiobook! 😂)

    Sonia,
Yes, we walked around Williamsburg just the other day. The emptiness was in stark contrast to the usual street life and energy You didn’t miss much by not living there–too boisterous and grimy.
NYC isn’t as treacherous as it used to be, because of gentrification, but soaring rents are the downside. People fled the city after 9/11, and rents came down. Will history repeat?

  4. Santosh

Books writtern by non-enlightened people is similar to a beautiful hollow sphere. They only have outside lusture but from inside they are empty. So reading them is just a time waste.
These are the people filled with lust, anger, greed, enchantment and ego. So their creations will also lead to these sins.
Only books written by True Masters are worth reading.

  5. Santosh

One thing that I have seen is that about 99 percent of Santmat followers do not follow dharma. These non-dharmic people continue to do bad to others and support evil criminals and politicians. And yet they sit in satsangs and claim themselves to be big satsangis!
These people don’t know the alphabet of righousness and think that their actions are justifiable.
And specially those working in the Dera and its sewadars. If you want to find some of the most corrupted and ruthless people then you can visit the Dera and meet its employees. Fuckers.
This situation is similar to all the religious organisations in the world.
The biggest crime that the religions in the world are doing is the justification of cruelty on animals.
I have met many fuckers claiming that Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Buddha etc. etc. all supported animal killing and cruelty.
My response to all these fuckers will be that first understand what is righteousness and think what will happen if the same cruelty and harm is done to you?

    A Disappointed Satsangi Indian
You are bang on. I am told, even by many in here, it starts from the very top at RSSB i.e. GSD . What an excellent choice to have as your spiritual guru, GSD. Perpetrator of a multi-billion fraud, accused of land grabbing, accused of destroying farmlands of nearby farmers, issuing murder threats, hobnobbing with known criminals. Others please add if I miss something. Indeed there isn’t a more dharmic individual than GSD.
And hey guys in here, just ignore the repeated use of a profanity. For some uncouth Indians it’s like being cool.

  7. Santosh

    An Ordinary Indian,
You don’t know the real identity of GSD. Ask someone who goes inside the body to know who is he.
And you don’t have any concrete proof whether he has harmed anyone. So speaking in air is of no use.
And you tell me that GSD is my guru. But you also used to sit in his preachings. Whom are you trying to fool?

  8. Santosh

Ok so this will be my last comment here. I am tired responding to criminals and idiots.
The last comment will be for An Ordinary Indian, who changed his alias 3 times to respond to me. Fool thinks that I don’t know.
So my dear An Ordinary Indian,
You are a kiddo. I can break your ass within seconds if I want(you should well understand by the power that I am emitting through my comments). But you will not know that because you are a kiddo. Anyways I am bound by some promises.
So please enjoy because your ass is saved. But not so long in the court of Yama.
I have to study so much. So get lost.

I used to sit in his preachings…. Really. You went inside your body to find this out?? LoL
FYI too, I don’t seek God, a concept just worth flushing.
Ever been to their vault where they store the unaccounted cash which is largely used to pay the black component in their various land deals? YOUR GURU has bought 14acres of land from a client of mine with a 40% black component.
    Indeed very dharmik of him!!!
For those who don’t follow, property dealings in India in almost all cases are underpriced in the sale deeds with a liquid cash top-up (referred to as the black component).
And let’s not talk about the harm he has caused. What he ensures through just his security department is obsence. Punjabis love to brag and for a twisted mind like me, not very difficult to extract out the ugly side of Satsang programmes whenever held in Delhi.

So what is his real identity @Santosh – one who goes inside the body and is the flag bearer of that 1% of the dharma following RSSB satsangs?
I hope you will bring back ‘concrete proof’ of his real identity once you return back from your trip inside the body.

  11. Sonia Taylor

    @Santosh
OK, wow. Even Sant Mat isn’t that harsh. I remember reading in one of the RS books that either Great Master or Charan Singh was asked what happened to Judas. And their answer was that Judas was in heaven… with Jesus I think. 😂
But according to my mother-in-law, Charan was asked what happened to Queen Victoria when she died and he replied that she became a tree. 🤣 I guess the Inglorious Empire was much worse than the Romans.

On a positive note, people are recovering from the coronavirus. And tests are being conducted, something to keep up hope:

Satsang Centres have been opened up too….. As either isolation wards or shelters to the homeless and migrant daily wage earners with meals and other basic necessities being provided.
In the past many have questioned the need for these thousands of centres….. They have their answer I suppose.

So earlier this week the PM reached out to a few prominent and well regarded Religious Heads which also included Babaji.
In the video, the reporter mentions that Babaji has assured PM that he Is available for any kind of service and that the doors of RSSB are open for the needy and that they are in constant touch with the administration to coordinate all relief measures so that the suffering of the impacted people can be alleviated.
He can be heard saying to the PM “We are in touch with all the district administrators here on distributing food, isolation wards or providing shelter to people and that all these facilities have been readied and going forward too, all resources is of the sangat and our doors will always remain open for those in need.”
Instructions that he has left with the Sevadars is that nobody is to go hungry. So centres will scale up to whatever is asked of them. Delhi for instance was serving 28k meals twice a day, a few days ago but already with a capacity of over 50+ meals twice.
What I am aware is these services are already being availed by the administration in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. It could be at more places too. But not to my knowledge.

    @An Ordinary Indian,
In every organization you’re going to find good people and bad people (by bad I mean people who have a more issues than the average person). That’s human nature.
Every school, philosophy, civic group, government and religion has people who live by the group’s principles and those who have a difficult time living up to the principles they profess to believe in. There’s nothing unique about that.

Which causes more strife, money or religion? 🤔
Historically I think more wars have been started in the name of religion but the primary motivating factor was money or greed.
Spiritually vs Materialism. Humans start wars usually with some pretense of ideological superiority. But at the foundation of almost every war wants is greed, imo.
I’m not demonizing either spirituality or materialism, I just think the majority of strife, famine and disease in the world is ultimately the result of greed on some level. Syndicates sell exotic animals at wet markets the way cartels distribute drugs. Both of these things have resulted in epidemics and a global pandemics.

Those 80,000 daed were in the winter of 2017/18. Nobody went insane and thought we should shut down the entire world. Why?
It’s interesting that Sweden is doing fine while not doing much at all to impoverish and imprison its citizens in their own homes or sending them into hysterical fits of panic. It’s especially strange since countries who are collectively going insane are doing worse in terms or rates of death and sickness.
It’s almost like losing your mind over a pandemic that isn’t happening isn’t a good idea??? I’m glad I got over my fear of this thing fast. I feel really free right now.
But it likely won’t last because the greatest economic depression of all time is probably coming due to this lockup. Thanks to all the religious belief in governments and faith in media conglomerate-provided “experts” for that. Cult thinking doesn’t end when the cultish convert to pop-secularism or “science.”

  39. Jane

Jainism does not support belief in a creator deity. According to Jain doctrine, the universe and its constituents—soul, matter, space, time, and principles of motion—have always existed. All the constituents and actions are governed by universal natural laws. It is not possible to create matter out of nothing and hence the sum total of matter in the universe remains the same (similar to law of conservation of mass). Jain text claims that the universe consists of Jiva (life force or souls) and Ajiva (lifeless objects). Similarly, the soul of each living being is unique and uncreated and has existed since beginningless time.[38]
The Jain theory of causation holds that a cause and its effect are always identical in nature and hence a conscious and immaterial entity like God cannot create a material entity like the universe. Furthermore, according to the Jain concept of divinity, any soul who destroys its karmas and desires, achieves liberation/Nirvana. A soul who destroys all its passions and desires has no desire to interfere in the working of the universe. Moral rewards and sufferings are not the work of a divine being, but a result of an innate moral order in the cosmos; a self-regulating mechanism whereby the individual reaps the fruits of his own actions through the workings of the karmas.
Through the ages, Jain philosophers have adamantly rejected and opposed the concept of creator and omnipotent God. This has resulted in Jainism being labeled as nastika darsana (atheist philosophy) by rival religious philosophies. The theme of non-creationism and absence of omnipotent God and divine grace runs strongly in all the philosophical dimensions of Jainism, including its cosmology, concepts of karma and moksa and its moral code of conduct. Jainism asserts a religious and virtuous life is possible without the idea of a creator god.

  42. Sonia

That’s the interesting thing about people who don’t want vaccinations. The corona virus has changed the game. I could understand the arguments against vaccinations before all this (not that I was personally opposed) just like I agree antibiotics have been way over prescribed and that has led to even more problems.
But in extreme situations they are necessary. If someone refuses to be vaccinated against this novel corona virus then die to the very nature of this new virus, that person has become a public health threat. They could easily infect hundreds and kill a certain percentage of those people simply because they chose not to be vaccinated.
The purposeful spread of the corona virus is now being treated like an act of terrorism in this country.
Theoretically, everyone who chooses not to be vaccinated will only be able to infect and potentially kill others who choose not to be vaccinated. But that’s not really fair because some people may not have access to a vaccine for this for one weird reason or another (like children of parents who don’t believe in vaccines).
This may sound harsh, but it’s something to really think about. These are different times. The playing field has changed and it is not morally responsible to willingly take the risk of potentially infecting, possibly killing other people.
How did we wipe out TB in the US? I appreciate all those who were vaccinated so that I didn’t have to worry about getting that dreadful disease.

About ten days ago the news was that everyone in Washington was going to die because there simply weren’t enough ventilators for the mile long lines of corona victims gasping for air and choking outside of hospitals.
    https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/washington-may-get-only-a-fraction-of-the-ventilators-it-requested-from-the-federal-government-to-fight-the-coronavirus/
But just a few days later they not only don’t need more ventilators to save the many trillions and gazillions of desperate and dying people, but they’re actually sending the respirators away. They play some little tricks in the article about the ventilators being “generally” unsuitable for corona patients, but it’s irrelevant because the main point they’re making is that there are less conrona’d in hospitals overall in Washington, the place where the corona outbreak started in US and where the “experts” aka the mouths on the news reported would be the highest number of deaths. They themselves would have needed the extra ventilators for their other patients if things were so bad.
    https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/health/washington-sending-over-400-ventilators-for-non-coronavirus-patients-to-new-york-harder-hit-states/
This whole thing is idiotic. It mentions the big hospital the military built, but does anyone know if it was ever used? China built hospitals too, but I think they soon figured out that this disease isn’t the plague like we thought, and they shut the places down. Hate Trump all you want but he was right when he said Chinese are smart. Funny, too, that Trump is a blathering moron, but we’re supposed to have religious faith in the words of people he hires? Why would I trust moron-appointed experts?
Anyone remember the headlines just a month ago saying 98 million dead this year from corona? That’s the sort of “expert” opinion all these government policies were based on. One report from “experts” in UK said we’d be having 50,000 daily deaths in USA soon. So far we have about 13,000 in total and are basically on schedule to have a normal flu season, but with the added bonus of record breaking unemployment which could lead to record breaking violent social unrest.

” These are different times. The playing field has changed”
Yes, lower numbers of death mean we must accept more extreme government intervention and paranoia. That makes sense.
It’s almost like America and the entire western world not only didn’t learn anything from the nearly 20 years of lies starting with 9/11, or Vietnam or World War 2 for that matter, and instead decided to double down on blind belief and faith in the face of the ever increasing boldness of lies told by our governments.
There is atrocity propaganda coming out now in order to spin this manufactured paranoia to somehow harm China that says the Chinese are burning corona victims alive. Kind of reminiscent of another big myth that was used to get USA into a devastating war that killed nearly 100 million people, most of whom were forgotten because they were of the wrong religion.

Here we go again, selective “expert” quoting to maintain the religious beliefs. “My expert whose been proven wrong 100 times said panic, and by golly I’m gonna listen!”
Whether or not Wuhan China Lung AIDS is similar to the flu or not means absolutely nothing. What is being pointed out is that the predictions of The Holy Experts have been wrong by orders of magnitude. It doesn’t matter what you call the virus, or what risks they imagined it presented. It’s that “experts” were WRONG. Wrong at literally every single turn about every single aspect of this disease.
You don’t continue believing wrong predictions unless you’re religious. Just as most of you wouldn’t believe in the repeated failed prophecies of a doomsday preacher, you should similarly refrain from believing “experts” just because they have important sounding letters after their names and repeat that the true faith is science. The “experts” have been no more accurate than a Greek oracle, but far less interesting and lacking all fun, mysteriousness and aesthetics.
I don’t deserve the pain everyone else’s thoughtlessness is gonna bring on me, but it’s unavoidable. Thanks, society. You suck.
At least we’re almost guaranteed to see the end of this evil things called “democracy” soon.
“Right. Because the Chinese are completely transparent and pro-democracy, pro-freedom of speech. I can see how we should believe everything they say.”
Good point, Sonia, but the report is from Radio Free Asia. Not the Chinese.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Free_Asia
“Radio Free Asia (RFA) is a United States government–funded, nonprofit international broadcasting corporation that broadcasts and publishes online news, information and commentary to readers and listeners in East Asia. ”
tldr; RFA is an American propaganda station funded by our intelligence agencies.

Everyone here is making fun of me, which is fine, but do tell, how much money have you lost investing in pyramid schemes and other sure shots as advised by “experts”? I’m an expert in a number of things myself. Let me know if you want my BTC wallet address. I’d love to expertly advise you for a small fee.

So the early estimates suggested that this would have a tremendous amount of mortality and the cumulative number of deaths would be amazing. Eventually the number of deaths were far more modest than the original projections.”
Sounds similar to something happening today.

    Hello Coronavirus Lock Down Prisoners,…..
It’s been so long since I stirred the Pot here, that I imagine you all forgot me, and imagine the CV got me? Well, I’m OK, locked in,…but still sneak out to ride my Harley in the Mountains, when it’s warm and sunny.
Some time ago, in fact, many times, I posted Links to Allan Chronshaw’s Web Sites and forums, and challenged any Articulate Debaters like Osho, Manjit, David Lane, or evening Brian Hines to go there and stir Mr. Chronshaw’s Pot. If any of you rode to the challenge, I never saw any one even show up there, because I have been the only Pot stirring Sant Mat Preacher that had ever survived the constant, dsily attacks, just about every time I stir there.
Well, I was in for a pleasant surprise when I finally woke up one day, to find a Post in Allan’s forum where I had been constantly being assaulted. This Poster must have seen my challenge some where in the past, and during the Lock Down, decided to check Allan Chronshaw out, and ask him a few questions. I was just getting to know him a little, and trying to help him out, when he unsubscribed from the forum once he started being attacked for trying to help me. Then, I just ran across his blog where he wrote about his Adventure. Here is the Link! He was braver than any one here to take the Challenge. I think only Jessie could survive in that hostile environment. Here is the Link

    “Shalom Lying Pankaj:”
Great stuff, Jim. That Pankaj dude was sort of asking for it, though the reincarnation of an apostle, were he real, should have been spiritually developed enough to maintain a cool demeanor when assaulted with annoying Radha Soami tripe.
I was hoping to see more Origen quotes since I’d been reading one of his letters a few days ago, but the convo went downhill fast and the references were all replaced with rage reactions.
Also, I had no idea who “whole” meant in the original Greek. It seems there are many Bible words that have been very poorly translated. I asked a local priest what he thought about the best interpretation of “daily” bread is, and he had no idea that it was an “hapax legomenon”, or a word that doesn’t exist elsewhere. Now that I had to look that word up, I learned that there are 686 of them in the New Testament, which makes me wonder if anyone knows what any of that book means.
Jim, you gotta stay in that forum and argue more with those guys. It’s good for your soul. Way better than meditation.

  58. Jim Sutherland

@Jessie,……..Why don’t you come over there and help me a little to stir that Shalom Ebionite Pot, Jessie? It’s a perfect Pot fir you to join e your skills, because unlike here, you will get PLENTY friendly Shaloms,…..until you ask Allan a loaded question,…then his hypnotized Choir will trot out to crucify you. Allan has about 6-8 Core Disciples, that he has Hypnotically regressed in to Past Life Regression. One of them is even a practicing Medical Doctor in a Hospital! Allan claims his soul lived as the Brother of zjesus, I.e., Janes, and he waked and talked with Jesus, 2000 years ago. But he, James, authored, and wrote the original New Testement, which was Matthew, and was written in zhe rew letters. He says Constantine in the 4th venture, revised all of the New Testament, and the Apostle Paul, was The span of the devil used to corrupt the original Ebionite Bible Allen ss James authored with The help of his brother, Jesus. The Regressed Doctor says he was there and that Allan is superior to Jesus now ,because he is revising the present New Testament back in to what it was before the Romans changed it. Allan says his soul also lived as Thomas Paine, as well as some other well known characters. . One of his Core followers , Emmanuel, , claims he was Origen, and another claims he was George aWashington, and another, claims he was Thomas Jefferson. Then, they all claim to have helped Allan author and implement the Constitution of the summer.S. Along with Donald Trump who has reincarnated again to protect the Constitution. You can’t just make this stuff up!! It’s not a Game. They really believe it, and they say I have been following a Allan in those past lives to keep oppressing him, as the Romans did Jesus! It was in that Group where I met Richard Ruquest, Ph.D. , the Physicist, and we Tag Teamed Allan together in 2014, until I introduced a Richard to Sant Mat and he was initiated by Ishwar Puri in 2015. I know that Hypnotists have key Control words to snap those they have once hypnotized back in to Control, and instead of snapping his fingers, Allan says,….SHALOM,…..and ell of his Core Members he onve regressed, snap back in to formation and circle around him to praise and protect him. Allan might sound like a Joke, but when you look at all of his writings, there is enough there to keep Sant Mat Initiates busy enough to read during their entire 4 lives!
Jessie, come have dome fun. You will get much stimulation there. The was to get in, you must send an email to the email address in the Link in the Article. Say you have been reading Allan’s Web sites, and would like to become a a member of his forum to sdk him a few questions to help you understand the Bible better. Be polite!! Once they accept you, don’t cone right out of the Gate swinging, becauseyou will be on moderation for seversl posts until they trust you enough to let you post fter,y. You can ask Allan any herd question, and he will dump an 18 Wheeler load of Links he had written yo ander all of your questions. They won’t kick you off the forum as long as you don’t cuss, or use fowl language. But Allan will never dodge any questions, but he will rage like a Bull, and try to give you his horns when you don’t accept his answers as Truth!! All fun, but keeping his Ankle biting followers off of you will take patience, and you better enter Allan’s forum wearing high leather Snake Boots, bedside you eill be ankle bitten every tine you post. Do you dare accept my challenge to hone your debating skills? I think they put me back under moderation when I tried to support the poor Dude in the forum, but they will miss me and will bait me to.come back when the forum gets boring again and hies silent. Come on over and join the,………..Zoo, Bring Osho with you. He’s used to getting sucker punched by Security Guards. The quickest way you can get in, is tell them that you are anEx Sant Mat believer, and need help getting back to the Bible! Allan will love on you immediately, and tell you all about how,SamtmMat meditation is like,Head Sex masturbation, then you can go Kumbya with him. . HaHa
    Cheers,

Only because of my deep respect for you, Manjit, i decided to read the long article you linked. I don’t think it’s 20 pages, but it’s really good.
But how can you read both of those articles and find them to both be quality? The one from NYT is thoughtless quotes from experts such as SNOPES (lol) all arranged in a way to not so subtly implore the public into believing without questioning, and the other is basically the exact opposite. Philosophical, unbelieving, without agenda.
The entire time he asks questions and asks that we don’t believe anything and even entertains to some degree the same so-called conspiracies that NYT would diagnose you as mentally disabled for failing to disregard fast enough.
To think both of those pieces of writing were worth reading is similar to thinking incense and feces both smell good. I truly do not get it, but thanks for posting the Eisenstein one. I’m sending to one of my fellow disbeliever friends.

So earlier this week the PM reached out to a few prominent and well regarded Religious Heads which also included Babaji.
In the video, the reporter mentions that Babaji has assured the PM that he Is available for any kind of service and that the doors of RSSB are open for the needy and that they are in constant touch with the administration to coordinate all relief measures so that the suffering of the impacted people can be alleviated.
He can be heard saying to the PM “We are in touch with all the district administrators here on distributing food, isolation wards or providing shelter to people and that all these facilities have been readied and going forward too, all resources is for the sangat and our doors will always remain open for the sangat.”
I understand instructions that he has left with the Sevadars is that nobody is to go hungry.

“I thought we’d be more focused on discussing the science behind this disease and the search for a cure or vaccine.”
I’d prefer to not pretend to be scientists, and instead have a discussion about why a global pandemic touted as world changing , with predictions of 98 million dead, killed less people than the flu did 2 years ago, and almost all of who died were elderly and had preexisting conditions.
Many of those reported as dying from corona didn’t even die of flu or coronavirus such as that police lieutenant in Wisconsin whose daughter said “My papa never died of this virus! And the media and lying ass government is fraud! He had health issues way before this even happened!”
It’s a purely political and social event. If there’s any science to discuss, it’s the science of mass hysteria.

“…that police lieutenant in Wisconsin whose daughter said ‘My papa never died of this virus! And the media and lying ass government is fraud! He had health issues way before this even happened!'”
    Dear Jesse,
The quote sounded dubious to me, so I looked it up and found something similar, but I think your source put words in the daughter’s mouth and mixed up two different people, probably on purpose, because who wouldn’t believe a police lieutenant’s daughter?
    https://www.wisn.com/article/coronavirus-wisconsin-victims-what-we-know/31880850
The article is about coronavirus deaths in Wisconsin, and lists some 25 people. Second on the list is Robert Blackbird. He had a daughter who “said her father never exhibited any coronavirus symptoms before he died,” but her words stopped there. She didn’t editorialize about the media and government, nor, looking at her other quotes, did she seem the type to use harsh language. Fourth on the list is Lenard Wells, who “retired in 2001 after 28 years with the Milwaukee Police Department as a lieutenant.” He was the police lieutenant, not the guy with the daughter.
Granted, Robert Blackbird was 91 and could’ve died of anything at that point, but why twist it all up, except to make trouble and weaken what’s left of rationality?
Personally, I would’ve kept going to work on the assumption I’d get sick sooner or later, recover and move on, but the business is non-essential and was ordered not to operate. In hindsight it was probably for the best, because I’ve never had contemporaries die of the flu. C19 is different. My wife and I know of mild cases and moderate cases, but we also know of cases that required hospitalization, and we know of four mortalities. Between us, three friends of friends have died and the colleague of a colleague’s husband.
You could say that it’s an effect of greater awareness because of “mass hysteria,” but we’re only in our 50’s, and death by any cause in our age group has always been unusual enough to reach our ears. AIDS, suicide, cancer, brain aneurism, alcoholism, heart attack? Yes. But for four people to up and die with a respiratory bug in the same two months? No.
Well, maybe we’re talking about two different stories. Can you link us to your source?

“By emerging out of the “outer darkness” (see …) — and thereby coming to Know One’s True Self (see …), this will then enable us to Know God — not through dogma, faith or belief, but through the same Oneness as our brother Jesus.” (quote links omitted)

    Hi All,…….especially Jessie:
Here is a Link to another controversial Sant Mat discussion. The Author invites comments. About 20 years ago, I use to communicate privately with the late Michael Martin, who most Satsangis I knew dispised, and in turn, hated me also, because I would support Martin in David Lane’s RSS forum, when he kept getting attacked. But in one of our private conversations. Michael told me that he had met Jesus inside, and he described him to me. I since have lost his email, as that old computer crashed and I lost off of the contents. But the Jesus Michael described to me privately , was very much similar to the Jesus that Julian Johnson wrote about here.

“The quote sounded dubious to me”
It was from the daughter of was Lenard Wells from the page you linked.
The quote is from her Instagram page that she just set to private. The account name is kiaaa.a
And seeing that sites like YouTube are taking down videos and deleting accounts for the crime of showing footage from hospitals that aren’t busy, I’m not surprised that family members quotes aren’t being included in articles.
You and your wife personally are having an experience that sucks and I can sympathize with you, but it doesn’t explain much because more people had the same experience as you 2 years ago when many more people died from the flu.

Jim, I remember most of that letter from when I read it years ago. Do you believe in those stories? It seems like the description of Jesus by Julian is sort of what one would expect from that era. It’s like the Theosopohical, New Age or one of the schools of ascended master kind of theories.

@Karim,……Thant’s for checking out Allan. He would be insulted if you entered his forum and accused him of being a Pastor, Preacher, Teacher or Master. He says he is only a Guide, and doesn’t want any followers. Do you believe he is the Brother of Jesus reincarnated? You should join his forum and ask him to show you how he enters The Kingdom within, as His Brother Jesus must have taught him. Also, why don’t you subscribe to the comments on the Brother of Jesus Link I posted, as one of Allan’s members is there telling the author how ignorant Indians are, and why Sant Mat is Eastern milk as compared to Allan’s Western teachings. You can comment, then click subscribe to comments and emails, and you’ll be in the loop. No doubt, the Indian Author of the Article about his short experiences in Allan’s forum would be interesting to most of the readers here who subscribe and share comments.

@Jessie,…..I have never seen Jesus, so can’t corroborate his physical appearance. But I HAVE seen Charan Singh, inside, who looked exactly as he did in his later years, and spoke to me, with his recognizable accent, and gave me personal advice, and touched me on my shoulder. So, I can’t discount what JJ saw, but do know what I saw.

    Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I’m not big on holidays especially when things feel forced and people start complaining about all the work they have to do to get ready for the holiday (what’s the point?) but I don’t mind Easter. And probably only because it is when Spring comes alive in this part of the world.

OMG, I was just thinking about aliens. LOL.
I’ve never believed in aliens even though I know several otherwise normal people who do. It’s just never interested me. However, I came across the SETI.org site today and started to wonder…
I’ve had a few weird experiences but I dislike the idea of aliens so much (I guess because it just seems sooooooo illogical) that I have created some pretty rational explanations for those “encounters”. It’s funny, I’m not into aliens but totally believe in inner experiences. Of course, not much happens when I sit in meditation, but I sit anyway… like I’m supposed to. 🙂
I must say, I’ve been on my best behavior lately. I’m going to pat myself on the back now. LOL

    Hey, Jesse.
“It was from the daughter of was Lenard Wells from the page you linked.”
Who should we believe, Lenard’s daughter or the Milwaukee Medical Examiner and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services?
    https://fox6now.com/2020/03/22/69-year-old-retired-milwaukee-police-officer-died-from-covid-19/
    Choose your poison, I guess.
“…it doesn’t explain much because more people had the same experience as you 2 years ago when many more people died from the flu.”
    That’s tricky. Let’s compare statistics.
First Covid-19. As I write, Worldometer shows 22,115 coronavirus deaths in the USA out of 560,433 cases.
    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
Now the flu. You mentioned flu season two years ago. For the USA 2017-2018 season the CDC estimated 61,000 deaths out of 45,000,000 cases.
    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html
A big difference is in death rates. Doing the math, two years ago the flu killed 1 out of every 738 cases in the USA. So far, Coronavirus has killed 1 out of 25 cases in the USA.
The deaths I know were in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. NY and NJ alone account for almost half the US cases and deaths.
    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
I think that explains it. Coronavirus cases and deaths are more concentrated around me than the flu ever was; therefore, I’m more likely to have a social connection.
That brings us back to social distancing. Again, according to my math, we’re seeing one coronavirus death out of every 25 infected in the US (4% death rate, based on the Worldometer numbers). If we had as many coronavirus cases in the US as cases of flu two years ago, 1.8 million would die. I’m surprised by 4%. Weeks ago, it was more like 2%. Let’s say it turns out to be only 1%. That’s 450,000 deaths and still 7 times more than the flu in our heavy 2017-2018 season.
Sweden is an interesting topic though, because as you once pointed out, it’s business more or less as usual (with light restrictions and voluntary preventions against the spread). USA has 1,639 cases per 1 million population, Sweden has 1,038. USA has 67 deaths per million, Sweden has 89. Sweden has fewer cases per million but more deaths per million.
Sweden has had 10,483 cases total and 899 deaths. That’s 1 death out of every 12 cases, twice as high as our 1 out of 25. Why more deaths per million and deaths per infection? It’s possible that strong initial exposure makes it harder for the body to mount a defense. I read that Swedes like social distance to begin with, already embrace work from home, and the majority live in single households without children, so when cases crop up, they must be from prolonged interactions.

Really? You think that this one tiny insignificant little planet called Earth is the only one thats populated? There are probably many more worlds with highly advanced and much more intelligent beings than what we are. They are probably just keeping an eye on us because humans are very unstable and aggressive and seem to love dropping bombs and going to war and killing each other. I think we took birth on this planet because we can learn such a lot and evolve into a much better being. I hope there is such a thing as reincarnation because it gives me the desire to do my best here in this lifetime and look forward to my next adventure on another more advanced world (wishful thinking I know).

They’re saying that nearly every hospital recorded death is being attributed to coronavirus which means that all other death statistics have decreased since pandemic kicked in.
This means that deaths related to all other ailments are not getting recognized as frequently as they were before the covid19 pandemic.
So statistics are actually blurred because medical records are being taken as mostly attributable to the virus and not to other issues.
How many flu deaths this last 3 months? Probably nil. Compared to how many flu deaths Jan – April 2019?
Another issue I have just seen as a non partisan outsider (non USA citizen) just witnessed Bernie Sanders endorsement of Joe Biden as opposition democratic candidate to contest upcoming election.
If Biden is the American democratic hope to lead USA in current climate of major catastrophic conditions and in the terse economic conditions prevalent, and conflict of interest with China and other major political powers worldwide. Then God help America (and the planet) because he don’t have what it takes to cut it at the cutting edge of a world in upheaval and transition.
If there’s going to be a war which is not out of possible result in this pressure predicament I don’t think national and world economy rebooting or rebuilding is something Biden or ordinary people can deal with, it’s going to take someone with far deeper resolve and grit and thick skin to handle whatever is coming down through the next decade under havoc and critical shifting of social reality.
Personally I think Trump is going to take the election possibly easier than he did previously.

Yes 😊 It’s funny, if you think about it, every person you’ve ever had a crush on or thought you were in love with—all of those feelings were very different from each other. I guess that’s because when you put two people together (whatever the situation is) those two share a unique dynamic that can’t be replicated in any other way. I have an odd way of developing an “immunity” to people. I stay attached but don’t stay in love. First of all I’ve never been the type to fall in-love easily (Venus in Virgo). There’s only been one person in my life that I have the ability to fall in love with over and over again.

I finally agreed to go skydiving once with a friend of mine who’s good friend was skydiving instructor. He was going to jump with me. However, she forgot to confirm with him so we didn’t go. And then on the date that we were originally supposed to go with him, his chute didn’t open. He died just after they got him to the hospital.
That convinced me that skydiving is not for me.

    This is a major understatement.
Joe Biden barely knows his own name anymore or where he is at any given time. The guy creepily fondles children and smells their hair in public. He’s been accused of sexual assault by far more trustworthy people than those who have been going after Trump for the past 4 years (which the “believe all women” media conveniently ignored until about a day ago). He has openly admitted on camera to the same kind of corruption that Donald Trump was accused of (which the media barely acknowledges). He has no consistent policies and exists as the human form of opportunism. His son is a literal crackhead.
Strong candidate! The child sniffing and crack smoking son are the two qualities that might resonate with voters the most since America has a pandemic of pedo crimes and drug abuse happening right now. Relatable.
I’ll become a Christian is Biden or even Nipples Cuomo become president because there’ll be no hope left for anything and everyone will want nothing but to be saved.

I hear what your saying about aliens. Mathematically the odds are in favor that they do exist. I guess it’s always been a combo of childhood fear of Martians and grown up aversion to people who claim to have been abducted (they all seem a bit nuts). So, I’ve continued to rationalize that they don’t exist. But who knows… almost anything is possible.

I found what this doctor says interesting. Of course I’m not a doctor, an epidemiologist or anything but a random layperson who started as a skeptic, later believed wholeheartedly that this virus is uniquely contagious and deadly, and then reverted back to skepticism, so what I find interesting has no value at all.
And I’d never recommend anyone to be lax in their precautions, because it’s possible that the most extreme predictions are correct, but some amount of skepticism seems healthy to me at this point. If some experts are disagreeing with others, I see no reason to go along with one side over the other, especially not because one argument is more popular. Popular opinions actually deserve to be scrutinized more heavily.

@Jesse (this is the longest comment I’ve written in my entire life)
    Oh. My. God.
Is this Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg actually trying to say that the novel corona virus pandemic is a conspiracy made by virologists who want prestige, political influence and funding for their research centers???
Whatever conspiracy you may have about SARS-CoV-2 it doesn’t benefit anyone in anyway. Usually with a conspiracy someone is secretly benefiting. Ask the Pentagon and they’ll say it’s benefiting the Chinese. If I had to go with a conspiracy theory I’d go with that one.
Also, Dr. Wodarg shows how coronaviruses have been monitored every year from 2005. The first SARS case was before that. This is a novel corona virus. Novel being the key word. What’s so unique about this virus is how quickly it spreads and the fact that you can be infected and asymptotic at the same time which is the primary reason it’s so infectious.
Without a quarantine or lockdown, one of Asia’s the leading epidemiologists estimated roughly 200 million people would die worldwide by the second wave.
    https://youtu.be/Y7nZ4mw4mXw
Then there’s this guy—a leading virologist being interviewed on India Today. https://youtu.be/5Nw6SvIX2iI
(That’s an important video to watch.)
OK, so as I’m watching these clips and reading articles in order to respond to your statement I’m starting to see things a tad differently. 😂 😂 😂 But I still think the quarantine and lockdowns are critical. Unfortunately, the economic destruction will become our next health problem when people don’t have insurance because they’ve lost their jobs, quality of healthcare drops in this country because the government will be funding more Medicaid programs and private insurance companies (the monsters of healthcare) issue increased further restrictions to doctors and patients on what they are willing to cover. Oh, and the big one—when we run low on food available to grocery stores (corporate farmers are suffering devastating losses—huge fields of crops just being left to die because they can’t get it where in needs to be).
So, let’s assume we never had a lockdown and just let approximately 200 million people die and god knows how many get seriously ill. What impact would that have had on just the following:
    a) Healthcare systems
    b) Families
    c) Economies
    a) Healthcare systems
Because of the particularly infectious nature this novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), without quarantine our hospital systems truly would have been completely overwhelmed. This is because the majority of people in the world have no inborn immunity to the family of coronaviruses AND especially the SARS family of coronaviruses which having a higher morbidity—they were identified in 2003. COVID-19 is like the first SARS-type coronavirus on steroids because of its unique ability to infect so many people so fast and furiously.
    Read this:
    https://journals.lww.com/pidj/fulltext/2005/11001/history_and_recent_advances_in_coronavirus.12.aspx
“Human coronaviruses, first characterized in the 1960s, are responsible for a substantial proportion of upper respiratory tract infections in children. Since 2003, at least 5 new human coronaviruses have been identified, including the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus, which caused significant morbidity and mortality. NL63, representing a group of newly identified group I coronaviruses that includes NL and the New Haven coronavirus, has been identified worldwide. These viruses are associated with both upper and lower respiratory tract disease and are likely common human pathogens. The global distribution of a newly identified group II coronavirus, HKU1, has not yet been established. Coronavirology has advanced significantly in the past few years. The SARS epidemic put the animal coronaviruses in the spotlight. The background and history relative to this important and expanding research area are reviewed here.” (to continue reading click link above)
Our healthcare systems are not currently overwhelmed as much as they would be if there hadn’t been a lockdown. But even WITH the lockdown just look at New York and Detroit. Disaster.
With the quarantine we have been able to “flatten the curve” which doesn’t necessarily mean dramatically less numbers, cases or deaths (we hope it does but no guarantee). However, it’s helping to keep most of our healthcare systems from turning into a Black Friday sale.
    b) Families
So, if 60% of the world’s population got COVID-19 and an estimated 3.4% (3.4% according to WHO) of that 60% died, that would equal 160 million deaths around the world with just the “first wave”. By the second wave next fall/winter we could see an additional 60-80 million deaths.
Think about it. We live in a world of roughly 7.8 billion people. If we lost close to 200 million people in one year, how many families would that touch? That would mean, for every 39 people alive one person would die. Losing a parent, a child, a dear friend or a significant other is a devastating and irreplaceable loss. That is a grief that will continue for months and years.
    c) Economies
So, here’s where we’re damned if we do, damned if we don’t. Some people think wanting to reopen the market is just so we can make the markets strong again. The truth is, if we go into a Great Depression (which we are inches from) then there will be extreme health consequences—especially for Americans. There’s so much to write about how an economic depression impacts people’s health in a major negative way that I really don’t know where to begin.
Then of course, there’s the fact that we live in an interdependent global economy. We all do. With borders closed, airlines grounded and travel restricted commercial and agricultural products cannot get distributed. It’s no longer about getting the latest consumer goods trends, it’s about getting what you NEED to have in order to get by each day. And the longer the economy is closed the more exponential the crisis grows. It’s much like the virus in that way. It’s a compounded problem.
In summary, this is really more like a natural disaster. It’s like one HUGE global natural disaster.

“Is this Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg actually trying to say that the novel corona virus pandemic is a conspiracy made by virologists who want prestige, political influence and funding for their research centers???”
Not really his main point at all, but if you think humans are above such petty things I have a some things I’d like you to buy from me.
“Without a quarantine or lockdown, one of Asia’s the leading epidemiologists estimated roughly 200 million people would die worldwide by the second wave.”
Then he is a hysterical maniac. Perfect example of why I stopped believing in expert predictions. They made all these stupid predictions with almost zero data, which has now proven to be embarrassing for them, because they’re horrendously wrong.
You think 200 million dead turned into a normal light flu season just by forcing people to only skip church but then crowd around grocery stores? Makes a lot of sense, but I prefer expert opinions that in some way resemble the reality we can all see with our own eyes. And that reality is that this corona b.s. is blown way out of proportion. It’s not the first instance of mass hysteria, and it won’t be the last.
“Our healthcare systems are not currently overwhelmed as much as they would be if there hadn’t been a lockdown.”
They’re significantly less overwhelmed than they were 2 years ago when the flu killed many more people and there were people sleeping outside hospitals all over the country. News reported on it. Did everyone forget? Also, I had a number of youtube videos bookmarked that showed empty hospitals which had been reported as overwhelmed with stacks of dead people. Youtube took the videos down. Why would they deny us the right to information?
“Think about it. We live in a world of roughly 7.8 billion people. If we lost close to 200 million people in one year, how many families would that touch?”
Think about it, in a normal year 60 million people die anyway. It’s not even 4 times the amount of average annual deaths. You make it sound like we’d be swimming in blood.
Right now the world has about 125,000 deaths due possibly to covid 19, though we don’t even have accurate numbers on that, and almost all the people were either old or fat or both. Wait til we get to at least a few million healthy people dying before we start talking about 200 million. Right now it just sounds stupid as hell to even mention that number.
Also, Swedes should already all be dead according to these “expert” opinions you subscribe to, yet they’re perfectly fine. lol this is all so dumb.

  113. Sonia

So, you believe this is all just simply mass hysteria and that the world should carry on as usual? Apparently all of our politicians and scientists and doctors and world leaders aren’t as intelligent as you otherwise they would have kept doing business as usual. Gosh, what idiots the rest of us humans are.
Seriously, how are you any different from those who believe Jesus’ blood is going to save them?

    About https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qwiyxedC_o
I’m going to try to summarize the Dr Wodarg video. In essence, he’s saying that correlation does not mean causation. He’s cautioning against confirmation bias. Without a broader study, it’s hard not to see what you expect to see. He’s saying there are many coronaviruses that can co-occur with the flu. He expects COVID-19 to co-occur with about 10% of all flu fatalities. In a year, Germany might have 20,000 to 30,000 flu deaths; therefore 2,000 to 3,000 will also test positive for COVID-19, but the presence of coronavirus means nothing in his opinion, it’s only coincidence.
Now, anami’s analysis of New York.
I found something I was looking for the other day. It lists causes of death state by state in the USA in recent years. The link will take you to statistics for New York in 2017–first, births and then, leading causes of death…
    https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/states/newyork/newyork.htm
Click on a specific “Leading Cause of Death,” such as “Flu/Pneumonia” for a page with a map of the USA and a table below listing each state with deaths per 100,000 in the first column and total deaths in the second. Deaths per 100,000 is adjusted by age and population size, but total deaths is just the raw total for that year. In the box below the map, there’s a place to change the year, marked “Filters.” You can see 2005, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The original page with New York alone also allows you to see other years too (scroll down) but only the years 2014 to 2017. The two sources match year by year 2014-2017 on death totals, so we can probably trust the numbers for 2005 and 2018 as well.
Flu/Pneumonia death totals for NY State, according to the CDC:
    2018: 4,749
    2017: 4,517
    2016: 4,513
    2015: 4,881
    2014: 4,702
    2005: 5,521
    Let’s check Worldometer…
    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
How many coronavirus deaths in New York State? A big number! To date, Worldometer lists 10,834. That’s double the typical flu season, in spite of stay-at-home and social distancing.
What’s more, Worldometer only started registering deaths in mid-March.
If we take Dr Wodarg’s position that coronavirus could be present with flu and not be the cause of death, then how do we explain NY’s nearly 11,0000 “flu” deaths since mid-March? Flu season starts in the fall. By November, December, January, February and early March New York State must’ve had 3,000 flu deaths already. Of the 11,000 some could be flu but not more than 2,000 in a typical year. Therefore, 9,000 of those 11,000 deaths must be caused by something other than flu. Coronavirus is a reasonable suspect.
It doesn’t make much sense to argue that all of a sudden every death by any cause in NY is being stamped coronavirus. Doctors would have to be going insane all at once. Clinicians have always been able to sort them out before. They could tell the difference even between flu/pneumonia and COPD (emphysema, chronic bronchitis or asthma). That’s why there’s another category in leading causes of death called “Chronic Lower Respiratory Diseases.” If doctors were literally losing their minds, wouldn’t the media jump on that story?
As of Easter, here in the epicenter, we heard of a 5th death reportedly from coronavirus–a 39 year old man in the suburbs of New Jersey, married with two young children. He was the cousin of one of my wife’s colleagues.
My wife has many colleagues and in general is much more social than me, but she’s been with the same company for 15 years, and we’ve both lived in NYC since the 90’s. Our friends and coworkers have never reported flu deaths in years past.
Are people in the NY/NJ region dying of coronavirus or dying of statistical confirmation bias?
The Dr Wodarg video was published as early as March 13th…
    https://youtu.be/p_AyuhbnPOI
…and total deaths in Germany testing positive for C19 stood at only 8. His high end estimate was 3,000. Today’s figure is 3,592.
Germany saw 25,000 flu deaths in 2017-2018, a particularly bad season.
“25,000 influenza-related deaths exemplify – together with other parameters – the extraordinary severity of the flu epidemic 2017/18.”
    https://www.rki.de/EN/Content/infections/epidemiology/inf_dis_Germany/influenza/summary_2018-19.html
He probably estimated too high on flu deaths. The real total is likely a quarter to a third less and below his low end–maybe 19,000.
He didn’t take age differences into account either. In Germany confirmed C-19 cases skew younger and presumably healthier. 82% are below the age of 60…
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-24/coronavirus-less-deadly-in-germany-because-of-youthful-patients
He didn’t account for social distancing. They began social distancing on March 22nd. Some states had stricter controls than the German federal guidelines…
    https://www.dw.com/en/what-are-germanys-new-coronavirus-social-distancing-rules/a-52881742
Could it be that they’re more disciplined about social distancing, or that they have better healthcare or treatment strategies? Or that cases in Germany are with less urban concentration? I don’t know. Germany has considered easing social distancing soon, and it could show in the numbers…

  120. Jesse

“How many coronavirus deaths in New York State? A big number!”
“It doesn’t make much sense to argue that all of a sudden every death by any cause in NY is being stamped coronavirus.”
Except that hospitals (from what I’ve read) have been instructed by the CDC to assume corona deaths without any form of testing or reporting of preexisting conditions, which means normal flu deaths, and completely unrelated deaths are (probably) being added to that number. People with terminal diseases from before corona’s existence have been reported as corona deaths. So, it may not make sense, but exactly what you describe is happening.
As more data comes out we’ll know more, but so far it seems like a nothing burger and an excuse for an anesthetized herd of blobs to feel something real. This event is like a Nine Inch Nails song come true.

Not true. You can read the CDC’s exact instructions, “Guidance for Certifying Deaths Due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID–19)”
    Go to…
    https://search.cdc.gov/search/index.html?query=Vsrg&sitelimit=&utf8=%E2%9C%93&affiliate=cdc-main
Then click on the third result…
[PDF] Vital Statistics Reference Guidance Number 03, April, 2020

  123. Jesse

“In cases where a definite diagnosis of COVID–19 cannot
be made, but it is suspected or likely (e.g., the circumstances
are compelling within a reasonable degree of certainty), it
is acceptable to report COVID–19 on a death certificate as
“probable” or “presumed.” In these instances, certifiers should
use their best clinical judgement in determining if a COVID–19
infection was likely. However, please note that testing for
COVID–19 should be conducted whenever possible.”
That pdf is full of room for ambiguity, anami. It allows for infinite number of unconfirmed and untested cases to be reported as corona.
We don’t have accurate numbers. Period.

  124. Jesse

Rob, who I’m guessing is just georgy porgys new name, I know personal insults are against the rules, but I’m gonna call you stupid. I can depend on you saying something stupid more reliably than I can depend on useful corona data.

‘probable’ or ‘presumed.’ In these instances, certifiers should
use their best clinical judgement in determining if a COVID–19
    infection was likely.”
Yes, because they’re clinicians and have the knowledge to make judgments based on observations and patient histories. Even without a specific test for the C-19 virus, they can rule out other conditions with their usual, and C-19 patients sicken and die in characteristic and recognizable ways…
    https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/what-coronavirus-does-to-the-lungs
If someone dies at home, they can interview relatives to get a picture of disease progression. If it comes to autopsy, the lung damage is probably easy to spot. Survivors also say their illness was different from the flu.

  126. Jesse

Wishful thinking Anami, and a kind of thinking that requires far too much trust in people and methods we know are highly fallible, have been repeatedly wrong, probably dishonest, and certainly unable to make accurate predictions. That article doesn’t even claim that the pneumonia caused by covid is unique. It just says in too many words “some peoples lungs get really messed up.” Not a serious article. I give it 2/10.
We’re all lost in and roaming in the dark. Our experts can’t agree on jack shit, and I don’t have the ability to do testing myself so I’m choosing to not believe.

It is a lovely photo. Although there does seem to be something vague and distant in close-up photos of Gurinder’s eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul. I do feel compassion for him because of the pressure of his role and he is doing the best he can helping so many people who are enduring much suffering in today’s world. Life is strange and difficult, but then, it is what it is…
An excerpt from “It Is What It Is: The Personal Discourses of Rumi”
    http://spiritualdialogues.com/books/it-is-what-it-is-the-personal-discourses-of-rumi/
“It is the idea that brings us. The thought of a garden brings us to the garden. The thought of a shop brings us to the shop. However, within these thoughts is a secret deception. Have you never gone to a certain place thinking it would be good, only to find disappointment? These ideas then are like a shroud, and within that shroud someone is hidden. The day reality draws you and the shroud of thought disappears, there will be no disappointment. Then you will see reality as it is, and nothing more.”

We can choose to be happy in any moment we are not absolutely pressed to do something. We can live in a moment of happiness. Free of charge. Our choice. And that choice has its own effects on the rest of our day, and that choice reflects something about who or what we really are. If belief in Gurinder gets you there, if belief in physics gets you there, if belief in Jesus, God, Social Justice, Charity, Moses, your scuba diving vacation, or Trump, new furniture, new car gets you there, and you aren’t hurting anyone else, then that is where you should go. It is your birthright to go there. Because happiness has a positive impact on your health. It’s built into the human form. And unhappiness has an unhealthy impact. Different things will have different effects on different people. But if you find that a person or thing or idea brings you happiness, to hell what the rest of the world says or thinks, go there. It’s yours. It’s real for you. And if it makes you happy, gives you peace and harmony thinking about it, then it is your TRUTH. Don’t ask for permission. They don’t know what is in you. They only know what is in them. So don’t become a slave of that. Become intimate with what is in you. Something in you calling out to you. So reconnect with it. Deepen the connection. A door for may open in your heart and lead to something else. Or that door may OPEN taking you one step closer to what you love, or what loves you. You are on a journey. And with each choice to follow your bliss you become something clearer, cleaner, more purposeful, better.

  137. Spence Tepper

If you have a spare moment and try following your bliss, at least within yourself, you may discover you aren’t good at it. But make it a practice. You can get better at being happy. It’s a skill to be developed through practice.

    @Cousin Zigzag
Well, alcohol withdrawal is no laughing matter. My ex-husband started drinking after we divorced (we’re still good friends—it wasn’t a “really marriage… not really).
After 20 years of of daily drinking (and he was never the fall down drunk type. I never saw him drunk) he tried to quit and each time wound up in the hospital after just a few days. He almost died both times. Seizures, severe DTs…. ugly stuff. He’s doing a lot better since his last hospitalization. I think he’s quit drinking for good. Alcoholism is a serious, monstrous disease. Something I never personally understood till last year.

  140. Cousin Zigzag

    @Sonia
Alcohol’s a can of worms, that’s for sure. I was at a party once with all these Iranians drinking and dancing to Culture Club. That’s when I understood why the Koran forbids it.

    😂😂😂

  142. Sonia

Yeah… I used to always think, Jesus just day no. I never had a problem with alcohol even in my 20s when I felt it was perfectly ok to drink if you could handle it. I never “craved” alcohol so I’d get really super annoyed with some of my friends from college who slowly started to let alcohol take over their lives.
But going through it myself—even for a brief time—I became fully aware of how strong those cravings are and how easily it can take over your life.
I went to AA until I was finally able to lose the cravings. No desire to drink whatsoever now. The one thing they always say in AA is that the core of alcoholism is a spiritual problem, not a physical problem which I think is really interesting for a group like them to say. That’s why they encourage people to find their higher power, whatever that may be.
I can see now why they believe it’s a spiritual problem… at the core.

Imagine going to Disneyland or Disney world. Or remember that experience. It is filled with places and attractions inspired by movies, by fictional stories, by fairy tales. Families spend all their annual vacation money and time, and only on those years they can afford it, going to such places. Their children are enthralled. And we share the joy our children delight in seeing their beautiful and kind princesses, their brave and handsome princes, their favorite larger than life animal characters. It’s all fiction, but we get some of our greatest pleasures in that fiction. Stories of good and evil, despair, trials and heroism.
Now, before Disney, there was the church and temples. Bible study, Scripture study. In our minds we went to those places across the globe, back in time to live vicariously those incredible stories, and their meaningful messages. Those amusement parks cost very little… We’ll, tithing 10%, so maybe a bit. But no expensive rollar coaster or costumed cast or hotel and plane reservations necessary.
Because the outside props and scripts are there to help connect to a story, and the story to something happening, living, inside of us. Our own story. That is real.
Brian Ji is fond of saying unicorns don’t exist here. But they exist where they are important players in our internal story. And in that place they are not only real, but largely unavoidable. We think we invent, but are just speaking or writing what speaks to us, what resonates within us. And those things which we do not always see directly, but which call to us, demand our attention, are very real. They are already there. The inner Disneyland is already there awaiting our visit. Several theme parks in fact, each astoundingly grander than the last. But like the theme parks here, they are just places symbolizing something even deeper within.
As we find ourselves with more time in quarentine, why not peer within and go there? Disneyland is closed for now. But that more fabulous Magic Kingdom is open for business within, all cast members playing their roles, and your role, waiting to be taken. Your Golden Ticket is already in the palm of your hand.

Haha… you were lucky to get interviews. I hear everyone used to get an interview arriving and leaving with Charan. But there were less people then. So much less going on compared to now.
I had one interview after being rejected 3 times and then having to fight a sevadar during my 4th application interview. The sevadar literally implied that I was nuts. 😂
I finally got to have my interview though. I remember it being so much easier, very natural to look him in the eyes when we were face to face. I feel awkward with Darshan—it feels like a strange ritual, but face to face it felt more sincere. Admittedly I did look down and away quite a bit because it’s really hard to maintain your train of thought while looking into his eyes.
My voice was shaking really bad though even though I didn’t feel afraid or nervous. That was weird… I almost wanted to say, “Could you turn your energy down a notch or too? It’s making it really difficult for me to speak.” Lol

I’m going to continue my rant on free will here. I can buy into “limited free will” but no free will literally makes life meaningless. I guess the Masters are the Adjustment Bureau with limited free will.
No free will just means there is no God and if there is a God then he’s a really sick and twisted jerk.

  160. Sonia

With no free will whatsoever, that would mean God created this play of terror, murder, rape and torture for his amusement.

  161. Sonia

No free will would mean God chose Trump to be president. It would mean that every horrible thing I’ve ever done in my life was according to His Will. It would also mean that I’m not responsible for anything I say or do and that I’m completely blameless and guilt free. It would essentially mean that I’m karmaless in which case I theoretically shouldn’t even be here to type this.
Well, I’d love to believe there’s no free will because then I would be a Saint (since it would mean I’ve done everything according to the Lord’s will and cannot be judged because I’m karmaless) but I’m a sane human being that believes in right and wrong. I believe we have choices. I believe we make mistakes. I believe we can choose to do the right thing and act upon it.
Without free will there would be no such thing as right and wrong. And while “no free will” may be true on certain levels of reality, it’s not true here. Just like gravity. The laws of gravity exist here differently than they do on the moon and we have to work within those parameters.

  162. Sonia

For God’s sake, you can’t punish people that have no free will. They are already perfect if everything they’ve ever done was according to divine guidance.
What kind of god do you believe in???

    Noone
Retribution is only relative to action and reaction, there is no freedom in reaping the consequences of preconditioning.
Free will doesn’t exist else Christ would not have swallowed the cup presented him ‘Lama sabacht Ani?’
One cannot lift yourself up by your own bootstraps. It manifests from a pull of a higher energy, everything in nature is conditioned. Everything from source of energy is under sway of circumstance of condition there is no free will to be had in nature whatsoever.

    Are you related to Whodunit?
So, you’re saying no one has free will to do meditation or follow a Master. The Masters give Satsang in vain because everything is predestined, there is no free will and all the people listening to the Masters’ discourses are going to carry on their week doing whatever was predestined for them.
In which case, the Masters every utterance are as vain as each action we minions take.
If there is no free will, then you are no holier than a serial killer.

  165. Sonia

    @someonedunit
And there’s no need for Saints if we are all already doing God’s will.
    I’m just following your logic…

  166. Sonia

I guess I could go on about this free will thing forever, but I’ll concede to “limited free will”. Limited free will would be like a parent letting their kids play in the fenced in backyard without allowing them to run through the neighborhood wrecking havoc on whomever and whatever they please. It works both ways too—keeps the kids safe. That would make God a more responsible parent.

  168. Sonia

    Hi Trevor,
I have heard GSD say that we have limited free will. And limited would make sense. However, to say we have no free will would imply that we have to ability to make choices.
Here is an excerpt from the link you gave:
“When we look back on our decisions, we forget to consider the extensive influence from the past which has placed us in a particular situation. Whatever we are today is the result of what we thought and did previously. By the same rule of cause and effect, what we are to become in the future will be determined by what we think and do right now. If we make wise choices today, then it will be a lot easier to make positive choices tomorrow.”
The last sentence, “If we make wise choices today, then it will be a lot easier to make positive choices tomorrow.” The problem with that statement is that without free will we do not have the option to “make wise choices today”. Without free will you do not have the option to exercise choice because doing so implies you have free will. You can only truly decide to go with option A or option B if it’s actually a choice given to you. However, without free will there is no way whatsoever that you can choose option A if it’s your destiny to choose option B.
I am not denying the law of karma and cause and effect. Cause and effect are scientific. But if you take karma to the utmost fanatical extreme and say it governs every action to the point that you have no ability to make a choice (that you only think you’re making choices) then there is no reason for anyone to ever feel guilt or remorse. There would be no reason for me to ever feel sorry for hurting someone’s feelings or being disrespectful towards them because it was pure destiny that I said and did what I did.
Basically what I’m saying is that that article is contradictory.
    Here’s another excerpt:
“ In reality, whatever comes to us has been our choice in the past birth, and that limits our choices for the future, just as each move on the chess board limits our next move. So our sense of freedom of choice or free will is just an illusion.”
Again, the word choice is being used. I don’t know how to make this any clearer, but with zero free will you do not get to choose anything. With no free will you have absolutely NO choices.
    Choice = free will
No choice = 0 free will
Definition of choice (I copied this from the dictionary):
Choice – an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. “the choice between good and evil”
    ………….
Please let me know your thoughts… I’m curious.

  169. Sonia

Here is the definition of free will from the encyclopedia Britannica:
“Free will, in humans, the power or capacity to choose among alternatives or to act in certain situations independently of natural, social, or divine restraints. Free will is denied by some proponents of determinism.”
RSSB needs to stop suggesting that people have the ability to make choices if they truly believe we have no free will whatsoever.

    Does RSSB teach determinism?

  171. someonedunit

your understanding of what comprises ‘free will’ and what does not is limited.
Encyclopedia Britannica can only give a limited non elevated understanding based on philosophical or intellectual paradigms.
Free will as determined by human perspective is “limited”, it can only be allocated as ‘conditioned free will’ meaning every thought and instinct that goes into a decision has already been programmed into the equation prior to the conditioned response or reaction.
Humans like all species are reactionary. Other species react purely by instinct, (pure evolutionary / involuntary conditioning) while Humans react by way of habitual as well as instinctual, societal, educational, religious and multiple formative as well as existent (inherent) conditioning, hence their scope for making a ‘free choice’ in any circumstance is ‘Highly Conditioned’, by all manner of precursory input and conditioning.
From a limited (human) perspective you can take the encyclopedia Britannica philosophic standpoint that humans possess a (very) limited scope of free determination or free will. It is based on all factors leading into their frame of reference and conditions (and preconditions) influencing their reaction to specific stimuli to determine their corresponding action.
From the perspective of a higher force of nature humans are subject to forces and factors far beyond their immediate control, they therefore in real terms have hardly ANY free will whatsoever. In fact from the perspective of where true free will lies, humans in their current disposition have Zero Free Will whatsoever.

  177. someonedunit

Nobody is trying to change you nor expect you to feel remorse or guilt, why would you even think that?
The only guilt anyone feels about is stuff they inflict on themselves, through their own unreasonable expectations to be free of our own shortcomings.
No one, especially no guru who has your own best interest at heart is ever going to expect you to feel any guilt or remorse for being in the condition that we already are.
Why would anyone want someone who is already in a state of unfree condition and bondage to feel worse than they are when all they ever want for that person is to become truly free of all their restrictions and hurt?

  178. someonedunit

Life is Fair, as unfair as it looks to us from our vantage point of perspective.
I wonder if Brian still believes that is what he wrote, in retrospect. Perhaps he thinks it’s wholly unfair now that USA (and the world) have got this massive silent killer killing off (innocent) folks and they got a buffoon in the White house orchestrating it’s demise. With China firing off the first Salvo of the biological war?
Nothing throughout history has ever been ‘fair’ from the standpoint of the oppressed or the recipients of disease and disaster.
Neither did the dinosaurs think the meteor coming out of nowhere to obliterate their existence was in anyway ‘fair’. Nor did the multitude of people and societies decimated by dictators and warmongering tyrants from time immemorial to now think that any of it has ever been ‘fair’.
Unfortunately it is, there’s no freedom from suffering when born into the world, whether born with a silver spoon in our mouth or under shackles of oppression weighing on our hapless hearts, life is fair when under the yoke of the arbitrator giving and taking care of ‘fairness’.

Death is a natural part of life as ironic as that may sound. Why are you so afraid of it? Whenever someone passes, even if they are someone I love I feel this profound sense of peace. Only twice have I not felt this peace—perhaps because those two souls were reincarnated into this world of suffering. I don’t know really…
I’m not afraid to die but I also recognize that none of us will sooner or later than our appointed time.
That’s something I’ve always believed. And I guess with that in mind I really should believe in determinism. Like, there are 100 reasons why my dad should be dead right now but he isn’t. Part of my ego believes that’s because I won’t let go of him. But that’s just my ego. The truth is his time has not come yet.
It’s time to make peace with death. Especially now. We only have today—and no one can guarantee that we will live to see the end of this day.
I have no regrets—especially considering that everything has happened according to His divine will. How can He possibly make a mistake? It’s impossible. This is something that should reassure us all and give us peace. So, when you close your eyes to sleep just remember “everything is as it should be”. That’s comforting.
    Now I lay my head…

  182. Sonia

My almost-13-year-old niece identifies as a “he/him”. It’s kind of a newish attitude in the LGBTQ+ community. She’s so unbelievably creative and very active in the arts. And as feminine as she may appear at first, she is not comfortable in a female body. Apparently she’s given this a lot of thought. We’ve had many discussions about this. I keep thinking it’s a phase and I just try to focus on encouraging her to make good grades and to continue with her creative projects. I’m not sure what causes a person to have such extreme gender identity issues. Perhaps she was male in several past lives. Or perhaps she just doesn’t feel safe being a woman in this world. I can relate to that.
We still live in a male dominated society. Women are seen as objects, trophies or just something to put on the shelf or to serve men’s needs.
Not much has changed really. Despite all the activism of the Women’s Rights movement, men still treat women as inferior. Especially men in power.
Perhaps God really is a woman. I can only hope… It’s incredulous—you love your daughters but treat every other woman as if their job is to serve your needs.
Seems the human race hasn’t made much progress at all.

I’ve written him but he doesn’t answer.
However, I’ve been thinking this evening and somehow my life makes sense. There’s a pattern—a theme that’s been running through my life since the day I was born. And no matter how hard I try and how creative I get there is absolutely nothing I can do to change this pattern (other than maybe becoming a Scientologist 😂). I have to accept that I will always hope and be let down. The things that I desire most I will never have. I must have made a lot of promises to people in my past life that I didn’t fulfill. And who knows what I did in my life before that… and my life before that one, and so on.
In a way it’s really liberating because I can stop trying. I can stop putting all my energy into changing things. I can stop believing other people’s promises and just learn to be content with my life now, which has become incredibly simple.
It is very freeing. That’s the upside to believing in predestination.
No more hopes. Just living in the here and now. Zen Buddhism would be very compatible I guess.
It’s been an interesting day full of revelations. And now I’m finally going to sleep. It’s ridiculously late…
    🙂

  185. Sonia

My husband and I are seriously about to get divorced over this free will vs zero free will thing. I’m still trying to figure it out. Nothing makes sense. Life is meaningless.

  186. Sonia

OK, I’m feeling less depressed than I did last night and this morning. Life is still sort of meaningless but I’m OK with that. The way I figure, even if life is now “meaningless” based on my new understanding of free will, I can still carry on as I have all my life and pretend that I have free will. I think that’s what most of us do—we just pretend.
It’s better to care about art and music and books and friends and nature than to spend too much time on philosophical matters. A little bit of philosophically is OK, but too much and you end up falling down the rabbit hole.
This is why “God” gave us superficial stuff to keep us preoccupied. If we start thinking too hard we’ll be like 🙀🙀🙀. And you can’t sit in meditation 24 hours a day. If you did the result would be the same —> 🙀🙀🙀.
    Balance.
We don’t have control over everything that happens to us. We’re born preconditioned and our personality is the result of past impressions, home environment and DNA. None of us got to choose our skin color or place of birth. We don’t choose our height or eye color. We can control of affect certain things but the majority of stuff is out of our hands.
I guess this realization should keep us humble and help us not waste too much mental, emotional or physical energy trying to get what’s not meant to be.
I can’t remember when I read Brian’s book, Life is Fair. It was a long time ago and I think I borrowed it from a friend. Anyway, I can’t even remember if it talked about past lives and past life karma although I’m assuming it did. Quite honestly, I can’t remember hardly any of the Sant Mat books I’ve read since it’s been a while. I picked one up the other day that I had never seen before. My husband left it outside my door to read (we have separate rooms because I can’t sleep in the same bed with another human being and our new bedroom isn’t big enough for two full-size beds although our old room was set up that way). Anyway, the book is called ‘from self to Shabd’. I opened straight to page 23 and started laughing. It’s the first time a Sant Mat book has ever made me laugh. It was actually really funny. You’d have to get the book to understand why.
I wish I had a copy of Life is Fair. Guess I’ll have to order it online from RSSB to fully understand their take on free will. I never cared about the issue before but for some inexplicable reason it’s incredibly interesting to me now.

A Scorpio’s biggest weakness is their inability to trust easily—it takes a really long time. That being the case, what is familiar often feels safe even if it’s not ideal. And it takes time for other people to understand them. But they’re not sadists. Leo’s roar but are usually pretty soft hearted. Scorpios look scary but have no ability to sting if you’re not afraid of them.

The Phoenix – The phoenix is the ultimate goal as a Scorpio.
The mythical phoenix is destroyed and rises above its own ashes (another Pluto trait).
Life is hard. A Scorpio knows how hard life can be.
But when a Scorpio reaches the symbol of the phoenix, he or she has achieved a mature, stable, and comfortable life in the face of difficulties.
Knowing they can survive anything, Scorpios at this point don’t bog themselves down with petty arguments and plots of revenge.
The phoenix has risen above all that nonsense, adopting a “live and let live” attitude, and once again, trusting God to handle affairs of revenge and violence.
The phoenix is the most peaceful of the Scorpio symbols.
The older Scorpio has usually achieved this based on all of life’s lessons.

Scorpio frightens people, and for good reason. It’s extreme. For Scorpio the world is black and white. It’s a place where forgiveness is possible yet forgetting never happens. With built-in radar, Scorpio smells secrets like others smell fire. It knows where the bodies are buried, what is vulnerable, and where it is hidden.
And it knows what it wants. Cleanly used, desire is a liberating force. Nothing is so clarifying as knowing what you absolutely and truly want. That’s very different from knowing what you think you should want. It’s not the same thing at all as knowing what you are expected to want. Knowing what you truly want is entirely different from knowing what your parent, spouse, sibling, best friend, or colleague wants. Scorpio taps the power of your own, authentic, untamed desire. It’s the most empowering force in the Universe.
We don’t see much of that kind of desire in contemporary culture. The power of desire has been taken from us by a consumer economy that replaces authentic wants with manufactured ones that are easier to control.
This is the sign that can cut off its nose to spite its face. Only Taurus, Scorpio’s complementary opposite, is more stubborn. There are also obsessions and addictions aplenty when false and true desires get all tangled up with each other, as they so often do. There’s also the fury of having one’s desires thwarted, and the cold desire for revenge that follows.
Within Scorpio’s magnetic power is the ability to burn out revenge, to untangle the true from the false desire, to let go and be transformed. That’s why Scorpio is associated with sexuality, with death, and with rebirth. Letting go and being transformed is what all three are about.

So nice to hear how high a scorpio eventually can climb on the divine spiral
I must say : Bad memories made me reflect Matthew’s eventual divorce
Each summer in the morning I save some scorpions from the bottom of the swimming pool and then they walk away after a few hours,
    I’m intrigued 🙂 remembering some human scorpios , . . . poor Matthew Taylor
    Hope there is no damage

You are certainly contributing to a lot of conversations and I would like to acknowledge your ongoing honesty and open-ness.
Re the neck – all the very best. I can relate to some degree as I’ve had on-going trouble over the last 25 years or so – some structural change affecting nerves/blood supply etc.
The free will debate will never end! One way to think about it is that free will/lack of, relates to ‘individuals’. When through some sort of realisation this ‘individual’ is seen to be mostly a mental/emotional construct, then one could say the game is over as the issue becomes moot, same for karma also. Of course it then becomes the game of well what the f’k am I then?
The RSSB teachings have confused this issue by keep going on about the soul being an individual entity therefor transferring the free-will issue to it, when to me the soul is more about expanded consciousness rather than a limited ‘packet’ (self).
That book your husband just passed onto you, is in my view a move in this ‘consciousness’ direction by RSSB. I read it last year and (from memory) commented that it appears to use the terms shabd, consciousness and soul interchangeably. Nisargadatta was even mentioned. Holy Advaitics! Yet I felt it still kept reverting to standard dogma at times, almost like having to tow the party line.
Looking at it critically this brings back the same old debate about what the teachings are really about – and one way to put it is they are not what they seem. 777 a champion of RSSB and GSD on this blog keeps hinting at it when he says things like ‘soul = shabd’ , ‘ YOU WERE NEVER EVER : NOT’, [people] ‘are the All Pervading Purusha’. I agree that this is ultimately what things are about, yet I can’t recall any older RSSB book stating things like this, mind you my book collection is gathering a lot of dust.…

Yes, after a certain point in life Scorpio sun or rising get pretty tired of those who don’t treat them well. The whole power play gets old and exhausting. It’s not that Scorpios “kill” those who love them, it’s that they’re wise enough to recognize those who profess to love them but don’t have the strength to stick around.

  196. Sonia

    @7
Who is Matthew?! My husband’s name is a very common name but not Matthew.
I’m not getting divorced. I practically had to kill my first husband to get rid of him and we still ended up being roommates (just friends—we dated other people) after the divorce. He even started a band called My Beautiful ex-wife 😂 (eventually abbreviated to MBXW). Today/23rd was his birthday actually and I wished him happy birthday since we keep in touch. We’ve always been close but just friends. There was never any romance in our relationship. ANYWAY.
Thanks for saving the scorpions. I have 5 planets in Libra and they haven’t done sh*t to help me with my extremely intense Scorpio Ascendant. Probably because I have Pluto in Libra (an astrologer could explain why that f*k’d everything up in my chart).
I APOLOGIZE for being a ranting, intense, half crazed, Scorpio Ascendant—my Libra placements have actually intensified it to an exhausting degree. But deep down I’m extremely empathetic. I always feel HORRIBLE when I know I’ve hurt someone even if I don’t show it. Sometimes it actually makes me physically ill when I know I’m responsible for someone else’s pain. But the guilt freaks me out and I don’t do a very good job of patching things up.
Regardless, I’m not getting divorced. Till DEATH doth us part! Just hope I don’t accelerate that process. 😬 Life with me hard livin’.
Anyway… this is soooo me: http://scorpioland.org/understanding-scorpio-need-for-solitude-within-relationship/

    Hi Tim,
OMG, I know! I’m contributing waaay too much. I keep telling myself I’m going to take a break from contributing for at least a week but hasn’t happened yet. I read a few other blogs just for fun but don’t comment. I just read the posts and am not interested in what the commenters have to say on those blogs. Besides, even though I am soooo open here, it’s actually quite out of character for me. I mean I’m friendly and very sociable for about an hour or two a day and then retreat to my cave. Also, I’m in bed quite a lot these days because of my neck. I had a ski accident 20 years ago and then I basically got stabbed in the neck a few months after I got initiated in 2006 (very long story). It damaged my top cervical disc very badly and all the other discs successively completely degenerated over time. I should have had surgery 5 years ago when my doctor told me but I was scared. Now the pain is finally overriding the fear. I can’t even “sit” in meditation. I have to lie down. I keep ice on my neck all the time and have avoided pain killers but from time to time use steroids.
Gosh, I hope you get your neck sorted out. It’s very dangerous considering all the nerves it affects. And the pain is no fun. You don’t want to have to undergo neck surgery when you’re elderly—recovery is hard enough (from what I’ve been told). Best of luck to you on that.
Free will… what a can of worms. I just never gave much thought to it before because I never considered “zero” free will. Not sure why it bugged me so much for a few days but it did get me to download and listen to ‘As a Man Thinketh’. It only takes an hour to read or listen to and you may not agree with all of it but it is something I should listen to at least once a week to remind me that I’m responsible for what happens in my life and to not try and blame other people or circumstances.
Yes, I agree with you about the book and it’s “new” direction. The truth is the Truth and I actually really appreciate the direction GSD is taking. Putting things in today’s terms. Avoiding some of the “folk” dogma.
I will TRY to refrain from commenting so much but I’ve gotten so comfortable with this “crowd” and I’m practically bed ridden half the time so the temptation to contribute is pretty strong. 😂
I have 3 friends that I keep in touch with on a daily basis but no deep philosophical conversations.
    All the best

My apologies. If I lived in India I’d have every right to say that but being an American with only first world problems, I’ll just blame that idiotic statement on Starbucks for not secretly giving me my usual daily morning order. They know me well enough to know what a bad idea no caffeine is. They’re a bunch of millennial and Gen Y boys. Poor guys. I’ll let them know next time I see them to stop listening to me.
    (Seriously, I’m useless without caffeine.)

  207. Jesse

What do you drink at Starbucks, Sonia? I drink mochas. Not just from Starbucks, but from everywhere that sells them. Milky chocolate coffee is one of the best caffeinated substances on the planet.
Now, to my covid rant. As I was saying in my previous long and more angry covid rants (some of which you guys are lucky weren’t published) the entirety of available data sets have been garbage and to call their predictions wrong is something far more severe than a massive understatement.
There are a million things I’m not posting here because I don’t want to discourage people from practicing their religion of panic (which many seem to naturally be less devoted to lately anyway) but that a state is reducing their numbers because of misreporting the cause of death among other things is important. It would not be unwarranted to think that the same reporting errors mentioned in this article have happened globally but without the corresponding honest downward adjustments. Keeping the numbers high was the only way to get billions of people to lock themselves inside as some kind of sick social experiment or whatever this psychosis inducing spectacle is all about.
Anami would be absolutely shocked to read of this potential multiplication of deaths by ten I guess, since he knew, he just KNEW that there was an entire system of trustworthy souls accurately inspecting each and every reported instance of panic 19-
“Jeffrey Conner, the coroner in Franklin County, said he was blindsided by the department’s news on Tuesday that 10 people had died of COVID-19 in the county. As of Wednesday afternoon, he said, he was aware of only one death.”
    https://www.inquirer.com/health/coronavirus/spl/pennsylvania-death-count-changes-confusion-coroanvirus-20200423.html

  208. Jesse

Here’s another beauty from the news that won’t get a lot of attention-
“”If you were in hospice and had already been given a few weeks to live, and then you also were found to have COVID, that would be counted as a COVID death. It means technically even if you died of a clear alternate cause, but you had COVID at the same time, it’s still listed as a COVID death. So, everyone who’s listed as a COVID death doesn’t mean that that was the cause of the death, but they had COVID at the time of the death.” Dr. Ezike outlined.”
This is the “hard science trust real true” data we’re dealing with. “even if you died of a clear alternate cause, but you had COVID at the same time, it’s still listed as a COVID death.” Read that a thousand times and remember that the the news is using these artificially inflated numbers more than any others, and then consider that the deaths from the shutdown likely already outnumber real covid deaths, but we’ll never know because nobody is counting or reporting those deaths anywhere because poor people don’t count.

This is haunting me. Why would you even say this? I had a really bad dream about it.
Watching ‘Big Little Lies’ because my friends recommended it along with a dozen other TV series and movies. My friends have completely run out of things to do during this quarantine since all of them live in urban settings and don’t have kids… they’re stuck with just TV, the internet and door dash.”
My God, what did they do during the Spanish flu??! Oh, I guess they just plowed the fields and tended the gardens as per normal—until they fell ill. Yuck. No, thank you.
Now might be a good time to change professions. I would love to be a movie critic. 🤔 Watched ‘Blow the Man Down’ last night. As much as I adore Margot Martindale and pretty much any movie or TV series set in Maine, this one is a must miss. Peanut Butter Falcon and Jojo Rabbit are the two best films I’ve seen peri-quarantine. Tomorrow night we’re watching ‘Edie’.

  210. Trevor Smith

I have no regrets—especially considering that everything has happened according to His divine will. How can He possibly make a mistake? It’s impossible. This is something that should reassure us all and give us peace. So, when you close your eyes to sleep just remember “everything is as it should be”. That’s comforting.

Putting the effort to develop spiritually yes. The result i.e. you will spiritually awaken not really.
One isn’t initiated if he/she didn’t have the potential to spiritually awaken in this very life time and certainly over 3 or is it 4 lifetimes.
Doesn’t the RSSB master say you have to travel the path yourself with your meditation as the means.
    @sonia
You are privileged – not only do you know the reality of this creation but have been initiated as well.
A little bit of mindfulness and organising is all it takes according to this friend of mine who has introduced me to RSSB teachings. ( I am not a follower still)

    Trevor,
Timely and interesting comment, “Never forget, your Guru owns your soul and what it can be subject to.“
I’ve never forgotten that and that is exactly what caused the extreme bitterness that drove us apart. He doles out punishment and no forgiveness for past sins (in my case something I did when I was in my 20’s). I had such bitterness towards Him for that.
But that’s my Chiron. I’m starting not to care about… but a tremendous amount of apathy in general surrounds the subject.
    I’ll weigh my words carefully.
Apparently some sins can’t be forgiven. That’s fine but there will never be closeness or love where that is concerned. Just a sense of duty and obligation.
    Chiron rules here.

  215. Sonia

    @Trevor
I’ll do what I have to do—my meditation and the vows. But GSD is an extremely harsh Master. However, they say you get the Master you deserve. It hasn’t been an easy relationship to say the very least but it’s my karma, duty and obligation. So be it. Like an arranged marriage.

“A little bit of mindfulness and organising is all it takes according to this friend of mine who has introduced me to RSSB teachings. ( I am not a follower still)”
Oh come on man. You come here under different names and repeat yourself verbatim. Maybe you think it’s common and that hundreds of people continually speak on behalf of RSSB because their friend is a follower, but it’s not. It’s one of the weirdest things you can say to be honest.
And if you aren’t the same person as the other one who absolutely loves and defends RSSB as the only truth in this world, but only has friends who are initiated, then there are at least two weirdos out there that I’m glad I don’t know in real life.

  217. Jesse

Here’s another beautiful covid moment. Our heroes are literally in a war zone surrounded by piles of human bodies and being overcome by the stench of death, but that doesn’t stop them from choreographing dance routines, doing some long line dance and laughing in the midst of the dead and their families, and otherwise having a grand ol fun time!
My grandfather received a purple heart award for losing an entire leg in a war. I wonder if he was dancing and laughing during the war like these national heroes are doing.
Even if none of them were made during the pandemic I’m still gonna be more cautious if I ever have to enter a hospital again. The places are filled with clowns.

Try to extract yourself from thoughts and feelings simply by living in the moment. No expectations. No free will. Just being. Even if life sucks and you are going through misery and pain. Its just that. We don’t know why we are here and suffering. How will we ever know? This is the life we are meant to live. There is the good and the bad. What is this world? Who am I? Why am I here? Maybe we will know when we die and rise from the ashes – I hope so.

    Hey, Jesse.
    Our coronavirus discussion started here

with the video that you posted of Dr Wolfgang Wodarg.
    https://youtu.be/0qwiyxedC_o
A few comments later, I offered my analysis.
To summarize, Dr Wodarg claims that COVID-19 would be blamed for deaths that were really caused by the flu, because they can co-occur in patients. 7:21 in the video: “…we would’ve expected to find 2,000 to 3,000 people dying from a flu each year, that also had the coronavirus.” The alleged epidemic was nothing to worry about, just virologists and politicians causing panic.
2,000 or 3,000? Germany is at 5,843 and counting, even with social distancing.
    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/germany/
They’re still losing 150-200 a day, so by Monday the number of coronavirus deaths will exceed 6,000. Dr Wodarg was off by a factor of two or three, suggesting on its own that C-19 is more than an innocent bystander.
Early in the video he says he conducted a health department–but only for a region of 150,000 people! How does he keep a straight face? He was somewhat notorious to begin with…

Anami, but like, Sweden and Iceland bro.
Also there’s no evidence that “social distancing” has reduced infections. It could increase infection since shoving large amounts of people into crowded grocery and liquor stores without masks probably isn’t helpful.
Plus a factor of 3 is a bit better than many orders of magnitude which is the error which your faith is trying to justify and make excuses for.
You’re wrong and it’s embarrassing, but I’ve moved on from that. What we need to know now is how wrong I am about the economic fallout. Because while some like to say “how can you sacrifice lives for an economy”, the sane among us realize that economies are lives. Economies are food. Economies are shelter. So you better hope that I’m wrong, because if the economy falls apart, you’re gonna see far more death an pain than this semi-strong flu-like virus has produced.
Think of me when your neighbors kick in your door to steal your food.

    Tests/million = 24,738
    Deaths = 5,877

    Death in 3.75% of cases

    Tests/million = 9,357
    Deaths = 2,192
    Cases = 18,177
    Death in 12% of cases
Germany and Sweden are interesting to compare. The total cases/million population are similar, but the virus looks much deadlier in Sweden for those infected. Why? The lighter approach to social distancing? Culture? Genetics? Statistical error with less testing? Something else?

this %. of 12. said it all
    USA is bad either. is 20 %. almost ( CNN 980 000 / 54 000. )
So Sweden is better , . . very light distancing no close
Here in France we had 3 weekends of BIG manifestations in Paris
without social distancing by the Unions against Pension reforms
The don t want to go to 65 years – Now is 62 I believe
but certain groups is much lower
World”s card in %. would be a quick understanding

Sorry, I have to correct your math on USA deaths/cases:
    54,000/980,000

I think the article has his reply. To quote from the article
” The belief that we have ‘free’ will arises because we are looking at things only from our human perspective. That perspective changes as we develop spiritually and a wider picture emerges.”

It’s almost as if the people who are asking us to destroy the entire economy (also known as the source of sustenance for all mankind) and to lock ourselves in our homes like caged animals, are themselves not afraid of this disease that is going to supposedly kill everything.
Why are they not afraid? Do they know things that you and I don’t?

Dear Satsangins, Trumpettes and other far lesser mortals,
We bring you greeting from Bhanwar Gupha!
    We seek your urgent assistance.
We are searching for one of your human organisations, the Noble Committee. We were sent an alert from them saying that we at HOGWASH had won a prize for spreading peas around the multi-verse. We have searched your earth dimension high and low for many yugas looking for this mysterious organisation the Noble Committee to collect our prize, but have so far been unable to locate it.
We are beginning to suspect these prizes have been awarded to us fraudulently and that this Noble Committee is a product of Kal, an illusion. We at HOGWASH suspect the deeply twisted and disturbed mind of the abhorrent and perverted demon who goes by the name of “manjit” on this forum may be behind all this. Please beware of his antics.
    Blessings to the True Believers,
    HOGWASH

Anami, according to “experts” some states before the coronavirus hype were wrongly reporting causes of death over 50% of the time… But how can that be? I was assured by the scientifically faithful that we could trust the experts and their magic numbers.
And Anami, this directly contradicts what you said about the hospital staff who’ve been trained as masters and always record the cause of death correctly-
“The widespread inaccuracy of death certificate information stems largely from the varying levels of expertise of those who complete the forms, experts said. ”
EXPERTS SAID! I choose to believe experts with full faith. They’re all anonymously telling the news how wrong they are, but that we need to lock the whole world down based on their wrong shoddy data. It’s such an enlightening spiritual experience.
Just keep believing in the masters, with their bright and shining hospital garb. The real holy ones.

OK, this is my last comment. Has anyone read the essays on the RSSB site lately. When did they get to be so loving and kind and merciful?? Definitely a positive change. Or maybe they’re changing their tone because people are losing their minds in this end time of tortuous drama. Words matter. I believe people are more fragile now than ever before in history. We’re bombarded with endless psychological demands… sometimes life feels like Chinese water torture. You can handle it for a little while but eventually everyone breaks.

  241. someonedunit

    The awakening of humanity.
It is almost impossible to convince anyone that has yet to awaken to the truth of human nature, that they are trapped in a perceptive reality… created by their own mind.
The human mind is a powerful creator that processes all incoming information to generate the perceptive reality we live in.
Change the information…change the perception of reality.
Looking out, it is easy to believe that the world we see, is all there is.
    Albert Einstein once said,
“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”
Even in this very dense layer of reality, most humans are aware that we exist in different layers of perceptive awareness that fundamentally changes how each of us experiences life.
Still our limited perspective prevents us from applying that awareness beyond the conditioning of our mind by the Religious Institutions and Educational System… to see the trap.
I wish I could simply do as the character Morpheus did in the Matrix, and give all those that have yet to awaken a red pill to help them see what they really are… but that is not how Consciousness works.
So we have to suffer to slowly break down all our false beliefs, to finally get to a place where we are forced to look inside and feel our inherent connection to Source, nature, and one another… to understand the truth of all that we are.
That is something ‘the system’ does not want.
In regard to the required suffering…. NOW, this time when humanity is being driven into fear and being manipulated into choosing control as a form as safety, will lead directly to the suffering that will serve its purpose, and awaken the masses from the illusion.
How much we suffer depends on how many of us are awakened.
The fear you see manifesting across the face of humanity is merely a symptom of our disconnection from our true nature; a fear that is being exploited to sustain another branch of Consciousness… to feed their need.
On this plane of existence, your purpose is to awaken to your true nature, or you will continue to create suffering until it eventually forces you to change your mind, and look within for the answers.
You have been misled to look for ‘God’, safety, comfort, abundance and love…. out there.
You have been conditioned to believe that you are small and insignificant, that you are something separate from creation and the rest of humanity.
You have been conditioned by your education to believe that the system is there to protect and to help you create an independent life where you have free will.
In fact, almost everything you have been taught has been a manipulation to suppress the inevitable awakening of Consciousness and keep humanity in a State of Fear…
to hide the fact that OUR LIFE FORCE IS A RESOURCE.
(FEAR – Our underlying state of mind, or our output frequency, is a form of sustenances until we transcend into our ‘higher’ states of Being… LOVE)
If sheep could think as humans do, they would probably love the kind farmer that feeds them and protects them from predators.
They would cling to the safety of that illusion until one or two of the crazy sheep started to notice that the lambs keep disappearing.
If the herd could be convinced to shift their perception of the farmer, to focus their attention on looking for the lambs that kept mysteriously disappearing, they would finally start to smell the blood from the slaughter house hidden behind the hill. Then the sheep would suddenly realise… the fence is not there to keep the wolves out.
    But they cannot….
Your mind cannot see the trap because it is the trap… a trap that has been manipulated for thousands of years.
In the age of information technology ‘they’ have just become extremely efficient at it.
Look beyond your beliefs, look at what the system suppresses…
only you can find the truth.
    You won’t believe anyone else.

    Trevor,
Timely and interesting comment, “Never forget, your Guru owns your soul and what it can be subject to.“
I’ve never forgotten that and that is exactly what caused the extreme bitterness that drove us apart.
    @Trevor
I’m sorry I responded the way I did. I just took “Never forget, your Guru owns your soul and what it can be subject to.“ as a threat.
I realize (hope) now that you didn’t mean it like that. It just felt like you were threatening me at the time.

*Sudden Chinese decision shakes the corners of the entire world*
China surprised the world today and decided to cancel the dollar peg in the stock exchange transactions and decided to deal officially and the official link to the Chinese yuan instead of the dollar, and this is a bold and important step in China’s economic history. This means that the dollar has become non-existent in Chinese trading and the US dollar will fall strongly against the Chinese yuan and may affect it in global markets. And all the global markets were stunned by the decision. The news was discussed today on the BBC World English afternoon program. It is an economic war that could lead the world to a devastating war that cannot be neglected if America acts foolishly in the face of this decision !! China 2021 will lead the world. This is China’s old dream and what it planned to achieve for decades or more.
China plans a separate digital currency e-RMB, to take on fights with $
    https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/28/china-starts-major-trial-of-state-run-digital-currency
e-RMB, which is set to be the first digital currency operated by a major economy.
A sovereign *digital currency provides a functional alternative to the dollar* settlement system and blunts the impact of any sanctions or threats of exclusion both at a country and company level,” last week’s China Daily report said.
Some government employees and public servants to receive their salaries in the digital currency from May.
A decline in cash usage is expected to continue amid the growing popularity of digital payment platforms and as people avoid physical contact during the coronavirus pandemic.
It may also facilitate *integration into globally traded currency markets* with a reduced risk of politically inspired disruption.

  254. Jesse

Someonedunit, I don’t get why everything China does financially gets so much news coverage, usually of the doom variety, yet nothing ever happens. I’ve been reading about China selling of US bonds to crush America for a decade. But they sell some bonds and then nothing catastrophic happens.
Now this test on cancelling of the dollar peg you mention that’s gonna change the entire world seems to have had nearly no effect on the market. Contrast that to 2015 when the Swiss Franc decoupled from EUR and within hours massive brokerage houses went out of business and the entire world of finance was in a panic, there were stories of suicides coming out all over, but there was almost no major mainstream news about it.
Obviously time will tell, but China running these tests on a digital currency has had essentially no effect on markets whatsoever. Exchange rates are stable.

  255. Humpty Dumpty

Yep the Chinese are gearing up to depose the US as no 1.
Dunno if that’s a good or bad thing.
But where are all these western governments getting the huge sums of money for funding massive stimulus and to bail out their workforce, if they already running big deficits.
It’s not as if only one or two are borrowing, they all doing it. So the question is who is the solvent lender stumping up all this dosh for the merry go round? And what happens when the music stops?

  257. Jesse

“canceled the $ in the stock market yet”
Well, you trade stocks in the stock market, not really currency other than some derivatives. So you don’t have to worry about that.
If China has any bravery at all they’ll just do like the Swiss did and pull the rug out from under the whole world without notice. They can’t avoid war no matter how hard they try, so they might as well just hurry up.
As for your other conspiracy theories (not saying that as a derogatory thing. the powerful conspire secretly all the time) you’ll just have to wait. You can’t find accurate dates about the year when Covid 19 started infecting humans. There’s no way in hell you’re gonna find out truths about the origins of that virus. It’s 100% politicized at this point, and all news is someone’s personal propaganda project. The Washington Post which you linked to obviously being The Bezos Blog.

  258. someonedunit

Well obviously a Chinese pull out of the $ is little different to Switzerland pulling out of Euro, they’re obviously not quite ready to lay down the gauntlet just yet. Swiss don’t pose any military threat only an economic issue largely centered around the EU. But seems like China is gearing up to become less dependent on the $ and to set up a self sufficient internal digital currency to offset threats by US and UK against potential sanctions who’s sabers are being rattled already.

Any evidence he would have seen would have come from them. Also, the Intelligence community is say it’s not CONCLUSIVE that it came from the lab. That doesn’t mean that they have ruled out the possibility it just means they won’t declare something “conclusive” if it’s only 99% certain. They will only call it conclusive if it’s 100% certain.

Because Bill Gates is an idealist… and naive. Probably so naive because he’s an idealist. He certainly isn’t trying to gain anymore profit—that’s not what he’s about. He’s just one of those rainbow-pie-in-the-sky idealists. That’s not a bad thing except for when you’re dealing with people who aren’t so ideal. It’s not practical to be so blind, but it doesn’t mean he has an ulterior motive.

  264. Jesse

“They will only call it conclusive if it’s 100% certain.”
No, they will only say what is beneficial to their goals. To think that “intelligence communities” are where we should go for truth is hilarious. Who doesn’t know how things work, authority worshiper?

  265. Sonia

Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for Bill and Melinda Gates. They’re good people and have contributed a lot of good to this world. But one has to be balanced. This isn’t a perfect world. No one is perfect. There are selfish people and groups who do conspire. But not everything is a conspiracy. You have to weight the facts very carefully. Especially when it comes to the global balance of power.

  266. Jesse

“He’s already made his fortune and said he’s going to give half of it away or something…there’s gotta be some benefit accruing to the string-puller masterminds so what would Gates be looking to get?”
I’m not a believer in almost anything being said about Bill Gates, but people love power as much as they love money, and the whole “this billionaire gave away all his money” thing is completely fake. They give the money once held in their own name to accounts held in the names of the charities they want control over, and often just straight to their own fake charities.
And aside from money or power, some people just really think that they’re special and will meddle in things because they can. Some of those meddlers are billionaires. Did you not just read the news from the last few days about billionaire Americans who funded a private army in an attempt to overthrow the government of Venezuela? That’s no “conspiracy theory.” It’s a real life event that just happened, and failed. It’s but one of thousands of similar events we normally don’t hear about.

  267. someonedunit

Actually the naive one’s are those who think that people who have emmense financial power to influence others lives, and meddle and control and manipulate public health interests through sterilizing populations and inflict an ideology of megalomaniac proportion over humanity are doing so for philanthropic or altruistic ends. How naive can one get?
Secondly ‘that woman’ anchor for the WIONews network who ‘doesn’t know how things work’ is reading from a script that’s been put out by either the Indian government or at least by the networks overriding policy, same as Washington Post or NYT or Guardian or BBC or CNN would put out their take on ‘how things work’.
Again it’s the naivete of the audience to think that everything disseminating from any particular media platform is doing so without any ulterior motive driving it’s agenda, or whether it’s doing so for positive or negative effect.

You are equally as clueless. You think everything happens at surface level. Do you really believe that our intelligence gathering communities (which includes the military) is going to share everything they know with the public?
You can’t distinguish between Deep State and insane conspiracy theories that your flat-earther community likes to spread.

  270. Sonia

So we’ve got Jesse, an ex-RSSB devotee, and someonedunit, a fanatical Rhadasoami both on the same page.
    Conspiracies bring minds together.

  271. Sonia

Personally, I believe COVID-19 is a bio weapon made by the Chinese government which is what our intelligence community believes. That conspiracy is 99 times more likely than the idea that Bill Gates is involved. He’s just an unwitting publicity pawn for the Chinese.

  272. Sonia

And, for the record, here’s what I believe about RSSB. You get initiated based on faith. Then you’re supposed to use the SOS “scientific” method (I had to put scientific in quotes because this blog deal focuses on physical science) to see your Master within. IMO, if you see him within then he’s real for you. If you don’t, then he’s not. It’s up to the individual to figure that out for themselves.

And, for the record, here’s what I believe about RSSB. You get initiated based on faith. Then you’re supposed to use the SOS “scientific” method….
…The present initiation process is quite different. During the regime of Charan Singh and specially before the decade of 70’s, the initiation was very simple and in many cases had nothing to do with faith. There are thousands of initiates, including many holding high ranks in RSSB who have never tried to meditate, nor they have faith like westerners.
In most of the places in India, people were convinced to get initiated and most youngsters from RSSB families were automatically enrolled for initiation.
In late 60’s, people above the age of 18 could present themselves for spot initiation during Charan’s visit to the place, where he would only ask whether you eat meat or drink. Even many below the age of 18 were also initiated.

I think when we feel bad after doing or saying something, even if we’re not “sorry” it’s our conscience telling us we didn’t do the right thing. I’m not sure where conscience or moral compass fits into the scientific model but I believe we all have experienced it with the exception of a tiny percent of people. Some people are purely tribal and they only feel bad when they’ve hurt someone in their family or “tribe”. Kind of like most animals or the mafia.
I always remember how to spell conscience from Sunday School. They said is science with con in front of it. Lol

I think even Gurinder admitted to not being much of a meditator before he was assigned to be Master. And then he had to try and catch up to speed. Not sure where he landed. I’ve never seen him within so I can’t attest to his Mastership.
There is an accepted belief in Group Consciousness Theory that the more people who believe in an idea the more powerful it becomes. Today 20M + people are RSSB initiates. That’s just 6M shy of the Sikh religion, but RSSB isn’t counting family so who knows the real impact of RSSB worldwide. This pandemic has been a huge RS PR boom for Dera. No doubt there with be an exponential amount of applications for initiation when Dera is “open” again.

Now that you’re fired up, wtf were you thinking when you got initiated?

I’m ready for your response. 😠

  293. Sonia

RSSB is a completely misogynistic organization. Radha Soami—Lord of the Soul. The soul being feminine and lorded over by the masculine.
We see that with the examples of Sheena and Marina and countless others.

  294. Spence Tepper

Every day we are confronted with situations that are largely outside of our control. These can cause frustration and anxiety. Giving these to our loving Master releases us from that anxiety, and brings us closer to acting from peace; adapting rather than reacting with either aggression or retreat. Master has a functional role in our lives.
When we can successfully make progress doing this, trusting in inner Master to take these burdens, to bring us peace and insight, we experience moments of freedom from that anxiety and frustration, fear and attachment. In those moments we realize we are surrounded by peace. In the midst of the world moving, nature, God, Master gives us a space to exist in, and it is largely pleasant. We still have our role to play. If we are momentarily stopped in traffic we can enjoy that spot. And when traffic moves forward, we maintain our peace attending to the traffic and keeping pace. Even then, we can take that atmosphere of peace and freedom with us wherever we go. Disrupted by events, we can withdraw, reconnect with that peace, re-establish our connection with it we had momentarily forgotten, and proceed ahead with the next step of our lives.
This is the basic foundation and power of all spirituality. It is uncomplicated, but it is a little work, a little devotion to Master, who is our own development and next step.

  295. Spence Tepper

And so the issue of Master is a personal one. Who and what is my Master? Who and what is your Master? That is the only question. It can only be a personal question. There can be no arguments of any effect. He is there within us and we can discover Him. Discovering Him we have our answer. Searching within we will find Him. Whomever He /She /It is.
We all have an inner Master, an ultimate Good waiting to be discovered through our own efforts, and discovering Him, realizing He was working through us all along, the very force of life. It is for us to find and attend to Him /Her/It ..that power within ourselves. The way out of our predicament, to whatever extent that is possible, is within. And going within to our Master, submitting all to Him, we find that freedom in ever-growing levels of happiness as we ourselves master the skill of returning to Him, giving all things to Him, submitting to the situation He has brought us to, enjoying the peace and harmony He is, and in that Peace we return here, acting for the highest good we can conceive under these circumstances.

    Thanks, Spence. 🙂
My new mantra is peace. When I say new, I mean like in the last 24 hours. Had a pretty intense therapy session yesterday morning and realized I just have to let go. We hold pain the body—pain that has accumulated over our entire life and releasing that pain isn’t easy even when you are ready to let it go. Tears are the body’s way of releasing pain. When someone is crying they’re getting relief. Unfortunately our society historically hasn’t been as accepting of men crying. I think that has just added to all sorts of problems for everyone.
So, I’m repeating ‘Peace’ and it’s giving me the strength to just sit with the pain and somehow I feel certain effects of the pain leaving even though my heart feels broken. Peace gives us patience and strength. I think it’s the thing that has been missing from my life. Wise people learn acceptance. I’m not a wise person but maybe someday…
I really enjoyed reading your two comments. Very encouraging and kind.

    Hi Spence,
I’m rereading Sheena’s book. I missed a lot of interesting things the first time I read it. Just came across an answer that Gurinder gave to Sheena in an interview. This is something I thought you’d appreciate. 😉
“The same can be said for some rare, unique souls who achieve God-realization without a guide. They are gifted souls; it’s an unusual, inborn endowment – a miracle that is unmatched! Anything and everything is possible in His creation.”
    So, there you go! 🙂

  298. Sonia

This is my favorite part of Sheena’s book—it’s very sad but I appreciate her willingness to tell the truth.
This type of behavior is shocking indeed. She went through far worse treatment by him than most people. I think Gurinder’s wife was extremely jealous of Sheena which is probably the reason she became the victim of so many humiliations. It’s no excuse, but some men are fools—if their wive’s chase after money they will break every rule to please them.
Anyway, this is only “good” because it was the end of her harrowing ordeal. It’s an important. (And GSD’s wife was no angel.)
“One evening, fifty of us sat facing Guruji, children and adults. People were chatting with each other while I was in a whispered conversation with a young, excited girl who was to be married in a few months. She was beaming with happiness, asking for my views on how to handle her marriage. I advised, ‘The onus is on the girl to make the adjustments initially, with the passage of time the equation changes…’ At this point Guruji asked aloud, ‘What are both of you talking about?’ When he spoke, everyone turned in our direction. The girl replied with a smile, ‘Sheena Aunty says when a girl gets married; the onus is on her to make the adjustments first…’ Guruji turned to me, raising his voice. ‘After sleeping around with so many men, who are you to advise her on marriage?’ Pin-drop silence. Fifty pairs of eyes were on me. I stared at him in total disbelief. Was this the Guruji whom I had revered and looked up to for his wisdom, for salvation? Had he just uttered those obscene, crass words? Did he realize the agony and helplessness of a woman who is a victim of character assassination? Did the seat of power give him the liberty to demean women? At that precise moment the pedestal I had put him on smashed into a million pieces. At that precise moment, he had exposed himself bare – he was not infallible – he was just an ordinary human, very ordinary indeed!”

  299. Spence Tepper

    Sonia
Once upon a time a young girl saw a picture of a child in poverty. The picture was so compelling she cried for days. Her parents tried to console her. After all it was just a very old picture of some stranger.
She could not be consoled. For years little things would set her off. Anguish over the suffering of others. And then in time the pain this unveiled transformed into anger. And anger into action. She fixed things. But still the grief was there. She tried to locate a cause. But to little avail. The cause was long before she took birth.
She had no idea of the suffering of her family in a recent past life. She had no of idea of the trauma she was carrying. She was brought back because of it.
One day someone, a friend, suggested that she go on crying for a while. There was no one left to be angry with. But the grief, accumulated over several lifetimes, though seemingly out of place and context in this life, wasn’t.
She was naturally and very healthfully dealing with her own past. She had to honor that grief, and all the other wonderful things she began to discover within herself by letting things progress in their natural way. We can let go, but we cannot throw this away. It passes naturally, and we become stronger because of it.

  300. Jesse

“Unfortunately our society historically hasn’t been as accepting of men crying. I think that has just added to all sorts of problems for everyone.”
That was in no way unfortunate. It’s literally one of the only reasons why we’re alive.
Now that men in “the west” are encouraged to be irrational, weak, and emotionally expressive, we see the death of our entire civilization approaching, and far more violent and less emotional people quickly entering our territories and waiting for the best time to easily slaughter us all. Just imagine Detroit multiplied times a million.
World leaders like Erdogan talk about it openly and taunt countries like Germany and the entire EU. Hindutva advocates are very open about their desire to take over the west if not the entire world and exact revenge on white people. The best thing for these sorts of psychopaths is crying men whose veins pump soy juice.
There’ll be a reckoning one day for all the upside-down self destructive theories the politically left leaning of America and Europe have imposed on us all , but nobody will get any joy from it because those who are correct get nothing for being correct. We will simply have to suffer for your mistakes along with you.
Thanks a lot. Your hatred of men is really cool and edgy.

  301. Sonia

    @Spence
The idea of past lives makes sense as far as a lot of inexplicable things go. Like why are some born into extreme poverty and suffering while others have more than they’ll ever need and are (seemingly) very blessed.
It’s interesting… the cycle of life. But it never ends, in theory. Say one comes back and causes extreme suffering for someone that hurt them in a past life, then the abuser in that case will have to come back for another life so the person they abused can abuse them. It never ends.
Maybe some people just turn into ghosts. 🤷‍♀️ 👻
This why forgiveness is good. I have a difficult time practicing it when it comes to certain things, and to be honest there are a few things I don’t feel like I can forgive. But I guess if I don’t forgive, I’ll just have to come back to another life. 🙄
I guess I’d rather forgive than deal with those individuals again.
Wow! Good chat. I’m glad you brought up that story. I don’t need “ghosts” hanging around. I guess I’ll “forgive” them.
I think that’s kind of how we release our demons, so to speak. And most people don’t want to look into the darkness but the fact is some people act quite demonic—the Hitlers and Genghis Khans of the world… and there have been some monstrous women as well.
Well, to end this on a more positive note, I’m going to burn some sage, light a candle, and say a prayer for the somewhat recently deceased. Letting the 👻 👹 go.

  302. Sonia

    @Jesse
I don’t hate men. I just think they’re stupid when it comes to women. 😂
Joking aside, I’ve had equally negative and positive experiences with both.
Life is short. It’s really, really short and I just finished my Wiccan ghost releasing ceremony, so now I’m going to go watch the sun set.
    Maybe Life is Fair.

  303. Spence Tepper

    Dear Sonia
Sheena could have responded to Gurinder in a completely different way, independently. “Yes I’ve known a few men. I’m best equipped to speak about these things. Far better than you, Baba Ji. Your own Master Maharaji admitted he was not equipped to give marital advice. But in either case I think the person with the most successful experience knows best about these things. You handle spirituality, if that is your experience. I’ll handle advice about getting along with men. Deal?
“We hardly need men to go around publicly shaming women, wives or otherwise anymore. Really, you are offering a terrible model to the men right now.”
“In a marriage both parties need to work very hard and submit to each other, wife to husband and husband to wife. Or wife to wife and husband to husband, whatever the case may be. That’s just for everybody. And, news flash, Baba Ji, the whole relationship rests on respect for each other, and forgiveness. No public shaming. Really, what is that supposed to accomplish? Are you pandering to the women – haters? Please stop. I forgive you, Baba Ji. Now please walk the talk. ”
Write your own script. So that next time some asshole tries to humiliate you in public you are ready to give as good as you receive.

  304. Spence Tepper

    Hi Sonia
    You wrote
“It’s interesting… the cycle of life. But it never ends, in theory. Say one comes back and causes extreme suffering for someone that hurt them in a past life, then the abuser in that case will have to come back for another life so the person they abused can abuse them. It never ends.”
Karma doesn’t work that way, actually.
The person who was abused, and became used to it as part of their experience will return to being abused over and over again.
Unless they desire to harm tyrants and have rehearsed that retribution daily in their heart, and then they take that role if that is their principle impression.
But generally speaking, we return to the roles we have rehearsed day in and day out. The victim will become another victim, a hundred lifetimes. And the bully will just become a hundred varieties of bully, until it’s beaten out of them, or they wear it out.
The tyrant who loved tyranny will return to becoming a tyrant over and over again.
Until they all become so sick of these roles that they fight with all their might to break free.
It is the impressions that bring us back, not our notions of justice. The notion that life is fair of fool’s gold. Life is in perfect balance, but it isn’t fair in any way shape or form. This is just the lie of religion to control and enslave people.
I may desire to be someone else. But it is the impression of what I am that is generally much, much stronger.
The notion of balance has gotten confused in the mythology that has developed around Karma. The impressions upon you are the only thing bringing you back to those same impressions.
When you make a mold, that impression can only produce more copies of itself.
    That’s how Karma actually functions.

Was this directed at me or Spence? It almost made me laugh. Almost.
Yesterday was full moon in Scorpio. Somebody just shoot me.
“LOVE”?? Even if this was directed at Spence, I have to add a comment about it. Yesterday I was thinking about how they say a mother’s love for her child is almost the purest love there is. And I thought, it’s because she loves the child and is secure knowing the child loves her because it needs her.
But other relationships are much more difficult. Unconditional love is almost impossible. In relationships people are more vulnerable because they’re not “needed” the same way that a child needs it’s mother. This makes people insecure and afraid of rejection. And when that happens people lose trust. And when trust breaks down the relationship falls apart. Learning to love without fear is unconditional love. But it’s really difficult to do.

  308. Spence Tepper

    Hi Hear
You lay down the impressions yourself, your reactions. All the impressions you harbor are yours. That is your future. If your deep groves are pain, then pain is the road you yourself paved and you will have to drive down it.
And that’s good news. Because you have some small margin to move those actions. And when you find your own inner Master your margin widens because you can give many of those things to Him /Her /It. And if you keep practicing, more and more goes to Him, and less and less sticks to you.
Even your name calling “Ignoramus”. It’s tame, but you can still give that to Master also. Once that’s given away, then you get the love you ask about. It’s all in you. Love actually doesn’t require impressions unless you need to be reminded. Love is the natural state in the absence, even temporarily, of impressions, of their effect, on us.
The same principles that apply in every day life apply here with Karma.

    Will poetry go viral?
    Mad Song
    BY WILLIAM BLAKE
    The wild winds weep,
    And the night is a-cold;
    Come hither, Sleep,
    And my griefs infold:
    But lo! the morning peeps
    Over the eastern steeps,
And the rustling birds of dawn
    The earth do scorn.
    Lo! to the vault
    Of paved heaven,
    With sorrow fraught
    My notes are driven:
They strike the ear of night,
    Make weep the eyes of day;
They make mad the roaring winds,
    And with tempests play.
Like a fiend in a cloud
    With howling woe,
    After night I do croud,
    And with night will go;
I turn my back to the east,
    From whence comforts have increas’d;
For light doth seize my brain
    With frantic pain.

Greek Mythology seems so plausible in light of our current events. Humpty Dumpty in the White House. Little Miss Muffet ate her last crumpet and the snow isn’t white anymore.
I should brush up on all the Greek Dramas just so I’m prepared for what might happen next.

Just as I was saying… this just popped up on my YouTube notification a minute ago. Jesus Christ, Mother of God, wtf is happening? I’ve watched these monsters on viral YouTube videos for years and now they’re here in Washington.

What’s up Washington?? You’re turning into Pandora’s floodgate. Where is the gatekeeper??? Now I’m glad we don’t live in Seattle anymore.
Well, that’s enough good news for one day.

Murder hornets mainly attack honey bees and it’s not like we have a surplus of honeybees. And we all know how important honeybees are to vegetation. These guys are worse than a plague of locusts. They could start a famine.
I haven’t seen Jesus yet but we’ve got all the other horsemen accounted for.
The first horseman rides a white horse, which scholars sometimes interpret to symbolize Christ; the second horseman rides a red horse and symbolizes war and bloodshed; the third rides a black horse and symbolizes famine; and the fourth horseman rides a pale horse and represents pestilence and death.
Sorry for my rash of comments but I had a telehealth appointment with my Rheumatologist (telehealth is super awkward, BTW) and then got a whopping dose of Vitamin D. So now I’m a little more “enthusiastic” than usual.

    There shouldn’t be patents!
The lasers themselves rely upon cutting-edge “Chirped Pulse Amplification” technology, the development of which won its inventors the 2018 Nobel prize in Physics. Much smaller and simpler than any of the high-temperature fusion generators, HB11 says its generators would be compact, clean and safe enough to build in urban environments. There’s no nuclear waste involved, no superheated steam, and no chance of a meltdown.

    Hi Sonia
    You wrote
“And when trust breaks down the relationship falls apart. Learning to love without fear is unconditional love. But it’s really difficult to do.”
    Take it in small steps.
Love is unconditional because it is the foundation of all life and in infinite supply. There is no scarcity of it. But there is great ignorance of it.
To paraphrase Carl Sagan, we spend our lives searching the earth and digging deep into the dirt to find fossil fuels, the remains of creatures who died long ago, which we use as energy, and we fight over the land and mineral rights, command our youngsters in uniform to die by the tens of thousands for those rights. Our entire economy and wealth is based upon this scarce commodity which we protect using the dead bones and torn flesh of our children. And the burning of this sludge poisons the air, water and soil, makes our children sick, and leads our home, mother earth, upon which we all depend, to an early grave. But all the while the sun and the winds offer more energy in a day than we can use in a year. How ignorant is that? What barbarians we are! How foolish and degrading we must appear to more intelligent species that look in upon us from other worlds from time to time?
I think they must have a sign up to passers by stating “Off limits. Wild Irrational deadly beasts! No children allowed and no adults without special permit and military escort.”
We have to find the love within ourselves first. That makes it easy to love and to trust, because the major source of our happiness is not the other person. It is within. If we are unshakable in that inner love, then we can love unconditionally.

But to find that inner love, we will have to deal with our own conscience.

I really like the excerpt you included from Carl Sagan.
I heard just today (paraphrasing loosely) “unconditional love” is above the eye center.
    Boy, that’s a ways to go…

So now that it’s been established that propaganda work, we now celebrate being mentally conquered by it, and you can be convinced to become a racial fetishist and worship black crackhead pornstars with extremely violent histories as long as the TV tells you it’s ok, I guess there’s no use talking about that subject anymore.
Now, since some of you are still into “eastern spirituality” I found this quote somewhere and it is certainly interesting. Might even be something Dungeness likes-
“it is the disciple who has something special in him, and not the guru. The speciality of a disciple is his absolute faith, unflinching devotion and total absence of a critical mind. It does not matter how wretched and bogus the guru is, if the disciple has absolute faith it will bring him face to face with the inner guru. Such a disciple is greater than his guru. If the guru lacks faith and the disciple has faith, then the whole work is accomplished completely.”
Whether or not the actual spirituality is real makes no difference to me. I just found it could be of value to some of the people who know Baba Gurinder sucks, but still want to meditate. It’s all in you. If you are single minded, you could probably worship a crackhead pornstar who robs women at gunpoint and still see a lot of inner lights and hear buzzing in your ears.

Im not sure if any of my comments get posted since I don’t check or read anything anymore.
But check out Brian’s well thought out political ideology in its fully manifested form. It’s beautiful, wonderful, and most importantly scientific. I seriously can’t wait until you win. It’s all glory, truth and science. Nothing more. Nothing less. Utopia.
