A thoughtful critique of the RSSB meditation practice

Obviously there’s no one right way to meditate. There’s lots of ways, and whether one seems “right” or “wrong” is entirely subjective. It depends on what sort of meditative experience someone wants.

So if some religion, sect, spiritual path, or mystical practice claims This is the highest and best form of meditation, don’t believe this. Because that sort of claim is complete dogmatic B.S.

I’m confident in saying that because for many years I wrongly believed that the meditation practiced by Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB), a guru-centered religion based in India, was #1. It took me quite a while to realize that RSSB meditation wasn’t working well for me. Then I started to explore other ways of meditating, notably Buddhist’y sorts of mindfulness.

Here’s another guest blog post from a fellow ex-RSSB initiate who goes by Anon. They make some great points about the limitations of mantra meditation with the eyes closed. This isn’t something you want to do in everyday life, while eyes-wide-open mindfulness is suitable in any circumstance, on or off a meditation cushion.

RSSB MEDITATION PRACTICE

Within RSSB you have to meditate for 2.5 hours a day to be a valid follower. It’s a huge part of the path programme. They advise you to sit in a dark room alone and meditate by repeating a specific mantra.

They say it elevates you, and increases your consciousness, and your concentration.

EYES WIDE OPEN

If you’re driving a car, you need to be eyes wide open and fully alert. If you suddenly close your eyes and start chanting, you’re gonna crash. It doesn’t increase your consciousness in that situation.

If you’re in a dodgy area, you need your eyes wide open and to be fully alert. Same as when you’re sent out into a war zone – the most alert you ever need to be – you need to be totally switched on, eyes wide open, fully alert, vigilant, ready.

So how is closing your eyes and endlessly repeating chanting words increasing your consciousness? Some people may say it’s like musicians who are lost in the music. A lot of musicians are also eyes wide open deeply focused or reading the music itself or looking at their instrument.

NO DIFFERENT TO DRUNK

You can replicate this zonked out trance state with alcohol – if you’re “lost”, you’ve “let go” you’re unaware of yourself, eyes shut – gone. It’s no different to the disoriented, reduced inhibition state of being drunk. Unlike alcohol which takes time to sleep off, you can take yourself in and out of meditation – but let’s not confuse this with a higher state of consciousness or alertness. You’re entering the same reduced disoriented state all the same. There is NO DIFFERENCE.

There are reproduced questions in RSSB literature of satsangis who even asked about replacing this with substances. They were often put down as “westerners” and told it isn’t the same because you can stop and start meditating at will.

The process may be different but the state is the same. You are disoriented and no longer eyes wide open and alert.

THE REAL TRUTH

This is what RSSB tells you down the line. This is set out in their literature which you are required to read in order to become an RSSB follower.

RSSB belief is that meditation is the method for clearing karmas. We are never told how. RSSB belief is that the repeating mantra helps you hear divine music. This is not guaranteed and you are not allowed to discuss with anyone to verify or you lose your karma cleansing grace.

You can only get this meditation mantra through being initiated and accepting the guru as your master. You can only get initiation by satsang (lectures) and seva (unpaid work for the guru) and being a regular there, plus following the strict limited diet and other lifestyle rules (no addictive substances, no sex before marriage). They say there are no formal requirements or attendances, but you need to be a regular to get initiated/get the meditation – and keep going after.

If you don’t – you’re exiled socially. You’re told to cut down your sleep and/or social life to do the meditation. Otherwise the guru won’t save you at the time of your death and take you away from the devil due to your bad karmas and take you to heaven instead. They believe the guru can do this as he is one with god.

The current guru is the head of RSSB, Gurinder Singh Dhillon, who has been found guilty of multimillion dollar fraud in India. The guru lineage has been passed down for generations within one particular family in Punjab India, who started humble and are now private jet owners. RSSB relies on cash donations globally.

They don’t tell you all this upfront. Knowledge is revealed later. If you read this from the start you’d probably run a mile. It’s framed as a “divine knowledge” and somewhat “hidden” or “secret”, established by the 200 odd books on RSSB and in the absence of definitive scripture.

THE HIDDEN SAD COST – DISSOCIATION

I noticed this about people who regularly genuinely did this meditation practice for lengthy time periods daily – they ended up doing it involuntarily too. You can tell who is doing it – the tell tale sign is slipping into the trance state in broad daylight mid-conversation eyes wide open staring off into the distance blind to everyone. I don’t mean they got bored or tired and got distracted. It’s like they’re not there. From what I saw – meditating daily for lengthy time periods just made people dissociate.

This isn’t increased consciousness. This random spacing out often stopped when people stopped meditating and slept more. It’s not healthy to sit by yourself in a room for 2.5 hours daily chanting the same 5 words. Especially if you’re combining it with reduced sleep/social time to meditate more, like they tell you to, plus a restricted diet, plus unpaid volunteer work, plus lengthy sermons… baseline. This will lead to psychological damage long term. I saw people get much healthier mentally and psychologically when they stopped.

Anon.

    Hm.
Meditation is really about withdrawing from the interruptions of the senses and intrusive thoughts to achieve a higher, calmer state of understanding and bliss. To paraphrase Socrates, when the soul withdraws from the interruptions of body and mind and withdraws within herself she gains both bliss and understanding. That’s closed eye meditation.

It is surprising that anon is unaware of this traditional approach down through recorded history, including similar practices among devout Christian monks and Jewish Rabbis.

When anon says meditation is like being drunk, all the hard medical research on traditional meditation practice says the opposite. The parts of the brain that become active, and those that become inactive, are unique to closed eye meditation practice. Furthermore, long term closed eye meditation practice leads to greater health of the cortical layer, so that the cortex of long term meditators is about ten years younger than the the cortex of similar age adults.

Furthermore, the cognitive functioning of long term meditators is higher.

    These are just facts.

You nailed it. These anon posts are just an excuse for Brian to pass it along to rile up the meditators. He is still bitter that he spent so much time with the wrong method(for him).

This is not to say anything other than your mileage may vary. And forming your own opinion from a deeper investigation, and some personal experience is important to gain a truthful and balanced picture.

Your approach, attitude and understanding of what you are doing in meditation, as with any activity, will impact your results.

A wife/ Mother cooking for her family in kitchen with devotion is meditation. A gardener working in the garden honestly is meditation. A sportsman practising hours in the field is meditation.

Some have to PROVE to themselves and others, in order to take an decision, that something is “perfect” or “imperfect”.

Have they found one issue and it does not seem to work for them or not to impress others, they just hob to another issue, and try it again, always asking yet another expert for the lost key

Until, they discover that the key to the lock that binds them to something, is and always was, inside their own house, in their own pocket.

Seeking that key in the lime light of the world, by seeking out this expert or that expert, without ever checking out the expert, to find the key, will only add to the problem.

In the end they will will turn home exhausted from digesting yet, this experts view, than, another, and again another … creating an mental soup, as “black” as a drawing by small children mixing all colors with one another … due to cognitive dissonance.

Than they will no longer ask any expert, but consult themselves, maybe for the first time in their lives and find what it was that motivated them to get involved with meditation ..realizing that it was not the right tool to get what they were really after.

THAN .. they might forget about meditation or start doing meditation for the goal it was developed.

Dissociation of the relation with, the addiction to, the experts, realizing that they are not experts as the experts are and the experts have no idea what they are trying to solve … freedom

YES .. with that mentality, even an meditation practice can become an iron chain that binds them ….. only free people, free from experts, can meditate

“while eyes-wide-open mindfulness is suitable in any circumstance, on or off a meditation cushion.”
My Yahoo email address has remained the same ever since I started to use the Internet. To those who have ever corresponded with me, either by email, or any where else, it can be verified.
My email address starts out as “isydopen” , which translates, “eyes wide open.” But I have never meditated with open eyes.
I have also used another Avatar in the past, in various places, as “3idjim”,…….translating “Three eyed Jim.” So, in essence, my 3rd Eye is located inside my head, not out side, and it is most likely my pineal gland,
So, the 2 physical eyes, open, accesses OUTER phenomena, while the 3rd eye accesses INSIDE the head, where the Spiritual Realms START.
RSSB , nor any of the other various branches that started with Shiv Dayal, i.e. Swami Ji, have any Franchises of Ownership, on the Surat Shabd Yoga Meditation Technique, which is actually NADA Yoga .
That Technique is no longer a veiled secret, and it can either be accessed on the Internet, or even on my Blog, or search HERE, under MEDITATION FOR NEOPHYTES, that I have shared here several times in the past, where the flashes of light, Sun, Moon, Whirling Diamond, that morphs in to a multi-pointed Star, which is the entrance to the Astral Realm, INSIDE. with physical eyes SHUT, with 3rd Eye OPEN.
there is nothing magic or supernatural about the 5 names Panch Nam assigned by RSSB or the other break off branches, nor the RADHASOAMA mantra franchised by Rai Saligram and his Soamibagh branches and all of their break off branches .
Best advice, at no charge, Non binding to ANY HUMAN, is, if you want to access the Inner Landscapes described in the NADA Yoga Technique, and have never been initiated by any Grifter Masters,…..than just use the Technique I shared, and use the Repetition Simran of
HOLY SPIRIT, HAVE MERCY ON ME. It’s as simple as that! All the Simran accomplishes is, it concentrates the scattered mind to the Pineal Gland, where the Soul accesses and controls access to BOTH physical and Spiritual realms.
NADA Yoga technique could be compared to the Prodical Son returning Home of The Father using , or experiencing , The Journey of Souls.
DUMP ALL THE GURUS! No body needs them for crutches any longer. 😇

    What absolute tripe.
You Brian are feeding this person’s ego by posting this blatantly biased, irrational, anti-Beas bollox.
There exists considerable empirical evidence confirming the numerous psychological and physical benefits of ‘meditation’ with eyes-closed using a repeated phrase or words.
So a more useful question for you may be: “Why are you two allowing your unresolved resentments against a former belief-system blind you to a well attested reality?”

  8. sant64

Half of this is arguably accurate criticisms, while the other half is our friend’s usual hysterical exaggerations.

He is right to point out that the induction of trance states via meditation is limited in its effect. No matter how deep or profound these meditative states, they don’t produce a wholesale and enduring change of consciousness. Meditation states are the same as the effects of drinking or drugs in that the effects they produce on consciousness are temporary. This is why losing body consciousness and seeing lights and feeling extraordinary sensations during meditation is a state that disappears as soon as one gets off the cushion.

That said, there is a beneficial residual effect from meditation. Whether one does Sant Mat meditation, or TM, or Zazen, there are feelings of calm or centeredness that do endure for a bit . Personally, I’ve found Zazen with Metta practices works best for engendering that feeling of centeredness. I might also say that I’ve not found that hours-long Sant Mat meditation is all that pleasant or sustainable. But I wouldn’t go so far as to say meditation per se is as disorienting as getting drunk via alcohol or marijuana. I’m not going to bother arguing that point.

The degrees of practice matter quite a bit. There’s a blog by a Kirpal guy who told of how he meditated many hours a day until one day he just burned out, and didn’t practice meditation for years. In short, hours a day of any kind of meditation have not been proven to be a good idea for most people. That includes the meditators in the Buddhist world — I’ve seen little evidence that those hardcore meditators are any wiser or happier than the average person. If I may be a bit cynical, ambititous meditation practices of hours a day are a kind of greed, or perhaps a perverse faith that there is a pony under all that shit.

On the other hand, half an hour or an hour a day of TM or Zazen is proven to be both beneficial and sustainable for most people.

His point about not being able to obtain the meditation without initiation? Very valid. Each and every Sant Mat guru treats the 5 names initiation as a commodity. And let’s be clear, what the initiation is about is not principally the mediation technique, as much as it’s a vow of fealty to the guru.

“If you don’t – you’re exiled socially.” Well, maybe you are guy. But we’re not all Indian. The same goes for your claims that initiates are forced to do seva and attend satsang. You keep making this dubious claim — you need to provide evidence of where and when if you want to be believed on that charge.

Contrary to what you state, Gurinder has not been found guilty (via a court decision) of fraud. There is much one could criticize Gurinder for; why always exaggerate to the point of lying when critiquing him?

“They don’t tell you all this upfront.” But they do, and they did, and you read those RSSB books. And lo, you got initiated anyway. You made that decision as an adult. Own your decision, and stop playing that you were somehow tricked. IF you were tricked, you weren’t tricked by anyone but yourself.

Did RSSB Sant Mat not work out for you? OK, fine, and you’re not alone feeling that way. But to argue that everything about RSSB is objectively deceitful and evil is ludicrous.

While it’s right to doubt aspects of the RSSB path, to do so in an extreme way while leaving off all the positive aspects of RSSB is just propaganda. Junk criticism. Not a complete picture by any means.

I will argue that point with the following thought experiment:

Imagine that all of India renounced their present religious affiliations and became RSSB satsangis, accepting RSSB culture.

If that happened, think about what India would look like. At the very least, people wouldn’t be throwing their garbage on the street and letting it lie there.

  9. Um

    @ Mr. Sutherland

The last time I spoke to MGS, we discussed meditation issues, posture but also the simran/mantra.

O don’t know how to describe exactly what i saw and heard when I expressed my frustration about the use of the mantra in sant mat meditation and others, that seem to me more easy to handle and are more prone to create a “trance”state, due to its monotonous repetition.

I also explained “exactly|” where the nod was located ….

Again you should have seen his face his reaction, he heartfelt laughed as if i had just discovered a marbel that was hidden and if my memory does not play a trick on me he said …”that is how it has to be”… meaning that it was part of why the mantra was constructed.

Anyway … it is up to me and anybody else to attribute meaning an value to what he said …and … it is quite possible that it had no specific meaning other that being part of an conversation in which humor plays a role.

Over time , knitting certain statements from different guru’s together I came up with this circle.

    pleasure => attention
    attention => concentration
    concentration => attention
    attention => pleasure

=> meaning: “leads to” or “invokes” etc

IF, one is in a city AND one loves the sound of an marching brass band, THAN automatically one’s attention will been drawn to it.
As the band marches on, the sound of it gets lost between the sounds of the traffic etc. By CONCENTRATION one manages to follow the sound yet some longer.

Great master used the equation in the other direction when there is no natural drive to pay attention. He compares simran in that case with licking a stone, what eventual leads to creation of blood and the taste there of.

what he points at is that PAYING attention = concentration, to something long enough and intens enough, will by neccesity create a narural flowing interest.

The simran, due to its power to defend a monotonous repeticion and creating a trance state, will, in the long run work as a “mirror” in the sense that the practitioner becomes aware of HOW he is performing that repetition and reveals his mental state of mind.

Whether conscious or unconscious he will than find ways to do it with love and devotion as THAT is the only way it can be performed in the long run and in longer sessions .. in fact it works like sitting = ZA in zen. Some people can therefore, help themselves by reading some books on the practice of sitting meaning the mental attitude that is demanded.

Sitting in zen and doing simran creates a state of receptive mind

What is to be RECEIVED has nothing to do with sitting or doing simran ..AND…. cannot be CREATED by sitting and doing simran

Kodo sawaky wrote ..sit ten years, sit another ten years and another and go on sitting
MCS.. used to say …it is alife long strugle

    What is the struggle?

To give freely of yourself what was given to you without acting as a merchant

No ..i can not … I just understand how it works psychological ..I satify myself with coffee.

  10. Spencer Tepper

The problem with these discussions is when they veer from what one has verified for oneself.

Anon is right to speak to their own experience. This is where they are, what they see, what they think. It us their opinion with some basis in practice. That much should be honored. The path of self realization can be long and arduous because there is so much going on inside our own mind we don’t know, the unconscious, and what we have practiced living in denial of. So much. So that can be peeled away gradually, through love, through loving someone more than oneself, the Master. Then the words of Simran are love poetry and each one spoken silently takes on its own individual meaning and signature. Each repetition is not actually a repetition, but a statement of our condition in that moment. The highest condition, the greatest happiness is in surrender and worship.

You can learn that for yourself, if you are willing to put in the time, effort and introspection. Then you will see the Sant Mat meditation is a perfect path for progress, and that the difficulties were part of the process. Even falling from the path only to return, like the prodigal son, was a perfectly arranged part of the journey.

And then the world becomes perfect. The balance right down to the nanometer, is entirely balanced. And then in that balance comes the bliss of absolute silence. And then, God sings to us.

It is always a matter of experience and understanding. And every stage, even that of rejection from Brian and Anon, and each of you at some point, is sacred.

We must reject that part of our own ignorance at some point, even if it first takes the form of rejection and projection.

Some handle that within meditation. Others, through a larger and longer arc of karma. But it’s the same path to liberty.

I was naive and influenced by friends and family to ask for and get RSSB intuition. Lost years of my life. 35 years to be exact

  12. Martin

Martin again, I mean I was sidetracked from my true path for years. RSSB was not a lost of years, RSSB side tracked me for 35 years.

  13. Um

    @ Martin

What would have been better you could have done in those years?

Personaly I did not manage to “prove” anything from the path through inner experience and left the organisation behind many years ago, but i did take a lot of things with me from tose days, that I would not love to miss.

Do you not have those memories ..It must be .. given that you stayed for 35 years.

  14. Jim Sutherland

@Martin,….WOW! 35 years from you, 35 years from Brian, and 35 years from ME, this month! 35 appears to be a magic number,…of sorts, at least for me, because I had my Christian so called “Born Again” experience, as soon as I turned 35. And now, haven followed as best I was able, RSSB , the last 35 years, in spite of hanging on to my faith by my finger nails, while watching Gurinder transform RSSB in to what it has become under his “Captivity”,….I have set my self free from RSSB, along with most of the remaining Charan Singh Initiates,……..as well as even multitudes of Gurinder’s own initiates.
But, this time, instead of “not throwing the Baby out with the bath water, “ and keeping the baby,…..I’m throwing the Baby out, and keeping the Bath Water.!

Anon here. Brian, Jim, Martin – same for me. Just shy of 35 years.

Reading up on most of the recommendations for length of time spent in meditation, most seem to recommend 20 to 45 minutes. They also point out that although meditation is mostly beneficial, (in the sense of mental well-being) of some individuals can experience adverse effects.

My past meditation experiences included time spent with the Chisti Sufis, who practiced meditation through music. Several of my experiences were quite profound. Also, my time with Chan (Zen) Buddhists where a week-long retreat was spent in silent meditation (with the eyes open) and the occasional chanting.

It seems to me that meditation, particularly prolonged meditation, can affect the brain, producing unusual and sometimes blissful states. I have to ask myself, though, what if that which we perceive as altered consciousness is, in reality, reactions within the brain. Perhaps consciousness is not altered at all but simply the brain’s awareness of its altered state.

It begs the question, what if consciousness is really just our organism’s natural awareness, being aware of various brain states, which include everyday sensual and mental experiences, along with the more unusual experiences induced through meditation, substances or even injury or disease.

The whole of Chan/Zen focusses on the present moment. Is it possible that the past and future are real illusions, that they exist in the present, which is what there is and all there is? And, as Alan Watts points out, “To go out of your mind at least once a day is tremendously important. By going out of your mind, you come to your senses.” Going out of your mind is to not always be in thrall with the mind’s store of concepts, but to experience the reality of the present moment or just this, that only the senses are continuously providing.

The colony formerly known as the Dera will become a movie set much like Charlie Manson’s old commune did. India is just about 50 years behind. Gurinder was smart to get the military involved and not make the same mistakes as the Branch Davidians did in Waco. The short people there had no reason to live either. But I love LA. Love it.

  17. Jim Sutherland

I was the Sant Mat Preacher, preaching the RSSB version of Meditation, as taught by Sawan Singh , in his book “Spiritual Gems”. I was infiltrating most of Allan’s groups debating his theology, VS my Theology, which was Sant Mat based Christianity, as I understood it. I debated Allan and his fundamentalist CULT followers starting when he lived in Long Island, N.Y., and called him self “The Long Island Mystic.” He moved to No. Carolina a couple of years before I moved from California to Virginia, in 2010. and we reconnected and continued our debates. His Chief Desciple, named Peter, posted to Allan’s groups that I reincarnated every time Allan did, to follow him as Allan’s “Thorn in his side.” Over the years, I invited Satsangis to Allan’s forums to help me debate him, but in the entire 15 or more years, only 2 brave RSSB Satsangis, one, a U.K. Charan initiate, ex Christian, and one young Indian Gurinder initiate took my invitation and tried to debate Allan and his group of followers. Neither of them lasted more than a week, from the abuse I took there for at least 12-15 years, before they retreated. Allan always introduced me to his new followers as “An Ex Assemblies of God Fire and Brimstone Preacher who now practices Head Sex with his Eastern Gurus!” Haha, It’s now a relief to be free from ALL of my past bondage, while enjoying my freedom from ALL, and trying to enjoy my remaining Golden Years on my Harley, Spyder, and Camaro.
All in all, I deserve to fully retire from ALL debating, because I have paid my dues.

I asked Grok if Allan was still discussing Easter Gurus practicing Head Sex, and here was Grok’s answer, in case readers here don’t believe me.

“Allan Cronshaw (often spelled with one “n” as Cronshaw, and sometimes appears as Chronshaw in references) discusses the concept of “head-sex” meditation in his writings, particularly critiquing certain Eastern spiritual practices and gurus.
He describes “head-sex” as a form of stimulation or pseudo-spiritual experience achieved through techniques like chakra-gazing (focusing on upper energy centers, especially in the head), which he contrasts with genuine spiritual development. He portrays it as a lower or counterfeit form of ecstasy — releasing endorphins but not leading to true higher consciousness or union — and associates it with what some Eastern gurus and their followers practice or achieve.
Specific places where he writes about this include:
    • On his website (beingoflight.brotherofyeshua.com), in the article “Search For Self In TheWay And The Being Of Light” (dated around 2015), he states: “And what is often portrayed as Christ-Consciousness which is brought about by meditation on what can be portrayed as chakra-gazing and head-sex…”
    • In another section on the same site (likely under “Tree of Life – The Esoteric Mind”), he explains “HEAD SEX: What the people of the New Age refer to as Christ Consciousness…” and ties it to these practices.
    • In Facebook group posts (e.g., in groups like Original Spiritual Christianity – Teachings of TheWay, or Gnostic Mysticism), as Allan Cronshaw, he refers to “head-sex that is initiated by chakra-gazing – seducing the monks…” in discussions of Eastern influences or comparisons to Western traditions.
    • Related discussions appear in forums like RadhasoamiStudies@groups.io, where his views are quoted or referenced, noting that Eastern gurus and their meditation on the “Christ Center” achieve “basically head-sex,” contrasting it with other centers or true spiritual paths.
He uses this term critically to argue that many modern/Eastern guru-led practices (including some New Age or chakra-focused meditations) result in this “head-sex” phenomenon rather than authentic spiritual enlightenment. The “Easter Religion Gurus” phrasing may be a typo or misremembering of “Eastern religion gurus,” which aligns with his frequent contrasts between Eastern traditions and what he sees as original spiritual Christianity.
These writings are primarily on his personal sites (Brother of Yeshua / TheWay) and in his social media/group contributions under the name Allan Cronshaw.”

Each individual speaks to their conditioning and experience. We don’t really know all the events that brought us here and we most certainly don’t know what tomorrow will bring and how we will respond.

We see outward events, accusations, self-promotions, and we don’t see our own unconscious mind and how it processes events, feelings, reactions. How our own mind had painted others into charicatures of our making, to fill the role we need.

There is no point blaming anyone else, but instead we can celebrate our own strange journey. If you can celebrate the twists and turns, each of them, so much the better. Because when we blame, we blame ourselves. In Same Mat neither blame nor excuses are permitted. Forgiveness of everyone including ourselves is encouraged. And that is to help us focus on our next steps and leave the past behind.

What you thought was right or wrong about other people might just be a projection of how you feel about yourself, or not to the point, a creation of the polar opposite of what you think you are. And that creation, by contrast, may be how you define yourself. Every Batman must have their Joker, too truly br Batman. Right? So the mind goes.

If they were wrong, were you wrong too? And now are you right? Or just another chapter in the same book about the same flawed person?

I say celebrate every chapter as its own victory. Not a victory over anyone else, against anyone else at all. Celebrate their efforts too. Only a celebration of an expression, however flawed, of sincere effort. Let us say, as a premise, as an assumption, that every chapter was a victory of effort, because it brought you to the next chapter. And your sincere efforts now will most certainly carry you to the next chapter, however different not may appear.

Even within Sant Mat, even with Satsangis traversing internal regions, there are vast voids of darkness offset by greater regions of light. To get from one to the other, even in Master’s company, as His student, can be daunting. “Why must I leave the comforts of this region? To go through another frightening void of darkness? Why? I don’t believe it. I refuse!”

Fear drives far more reaction than we know.

But if it is sincere, then we will sincerely face it and go through it.

Every chapter has its challenges, twists and turns. And in every chapter, even in Master’s company, we are challenged to move forward.

    So that would

  19. Spencer Tepper

So that would be tomorrow. We build tomorrow from the Now, even though we hardly understand it. By our very smallness our efforts are noble, so long as we avoid drawing anyone else into our drama / comedy.

Let’s grant that everything the critics say about RSSB is accurate. Even accurate x 10.

India would still be 100x better if everyone in India became an RSSB initiate and adopted RSSB culture over their present culture.

What is wrong with India’s present culture? Well, here’s a short list:

Open defecation & faecal sludge everywhere
Human shit + pig shit + dog shit + cow dung cocktail on streets & footpaths

Garbage mountains & micro-dump sites literally every 200–400 meters
Wet waste rotting in 35–40 °C heat → unbearable stench in most neighbourhoods.

    Open garbage burning
Plastic + tyres + electronic waste + biomedical waste → dioxins + black smoke twice a day.
Public urination walls (“urine malaria” yellow-black staining)

Spitting (paan + gutka + tobacco + just red saliva)
Red stains on walls, stairs, train platforms, inside lifts, hospital corridors.

    ** overflowing public/community toilets**
Most are worse than Western roadside porta-potties — faeces on walls, no water, broken doors, no lights.

River & lake edges as simultaneous toilet + laundry + garbage + cattle bathing zone

Street-food frying oil that is black and reused for days/weeks
Re-used until it literally smokes like engine oil.

Stray dogs eating from the same open garbage piles humans throw food into
→ very high risk of zoonotic transfer (especially around meat & fish markets)

Monsoon = sewage + garbage soup flooding every low-lying road
People wading through literal faeces-black water in chappals / barefoot.
Public transport AC buses / metro when the AC filter hasn’t been cleaned in years
Smells like old socks + armpits + mildew.

Unsealed roadside meat/fish stalls + butchers washing intestines in open drains
Piles of used sanitary pads & diapers in every public bin / beside every drain

“Nala” (open stormwater drains) used as year-round sewage line
Black, bubbling, foaming liquid that smells like death 365 days.

Religious offering waste (flowers, coconuts, styrofoam plates, plastic bags) dumped straight into every pond/lake/river after puja

Then there’s the noise! Constant honking of horns.

Then there’s the air: Filthiest air in the world. Air so bad it literally shortens lives.

Then there’s India’s rape culture: They treat their women worse than dogs.

OK that’s it. No, there’s much more:

    Widespread infantide.
    Child marriage.
    Caste system.
    Honour killings.
    Normalisation of domestic violence.
Nepotism (uh, never mind that one!)

With the exception of nepotism, the RSSB culture of order, cleanliness, and charitable service is the polar opposite of general Indian culture. Any fair assessment of RSSB has to acknowledge this fact.

  21. TheLonelySikh

Ah yes, the RBBS stare, I know it well. lmao yeah right.

And now meditation is being likened to being drunk? I’m sure its the first time I’ve ever seen that. What a reach.

Brian is clearly very bitter that he spent so much time trying a particular meditation method that did not work FOR HIM. So he uses these “anon” messages he receives to take cheap shots. That doesn’t sound very evolved to me. Nor should anyone believe that he knows best. How could he?

  22. Screwtape

Humans are amphibians — half spirit and half animal. (The Enemy’s determination to produce such a revolting hybrid was one of the things that determined 0\ur Father to withdraw his support from Him.) As spirits they belong to the eternal world, but as animals they inhabit time. This means that while their spirit can be directed to an eternal object, their bodies, passions, and imaginations are in continual change, for to be in time means to change. Their nearest approach to constancy, therefore, is undulation — the repeated return to a level from which they repeatedly fall back, a series of troughs and peaks. If you had watched your patient carefully you would have seen this undulation in every department of his life — his interest in his work, his affection for his friends, his physical appetites, all go up and down. As long as he lives on earth periods of emotional and bodily richness and liveliness will alternate with periods of numbness and poverty. The dryness and dulness through which your patient is now going are not, as you fondly suppose, your workmanship; they are merely a natural phenomenon which will do us no good unless you make a good use of it.

To decide what the best use of it is, you must ask what use the Enemy wants to make of it, and then do the opposite. Now it may surprise you to learn that in His efforts to get permanent possession of a soul. He relies on the troughs even more than on the peaks ; some of His special favourites have gone through longer and deeper troughs than anyone else. The reason is this. To us a human is primarily food; our aim is the absorption of its will into ours, the increase of our own area of selfhood at its expense. But the obedience which the Enemy demands of men is quite a different thing. One must face the fact that all the talk about His love for men, and His service being perfect freedom, is not (as one would gladly believe) mere propaganda, but an appalling truth. He really does want to fill the universe with a lot of loathsome little replicas of Himself — creatures whose life, on its miniature scale, will be qualitatively like His own, not because He has absorbed them but because their wills freely conform to His. We want cattle who can finally become food; He wants servants who can finally become sons. We want to suck in, He wants to give out. We are empty and would be filled ; He is full and flows over. Our war aim is a world in which Our Father Below has drawn all other beings into himself : the Enemy wants a world full of beings united to Him but still distinct.

And that is where the troughs come in. You must have often wondered why the Enemy does not make more use of His power to be sensibly present to human souls in any degree He chooses and at any moment. But you now see that the Irresistible and the Indisputable are the two weapons which the very nature of His scheme forbids Him to use. Merely to over-ride a human will (as His felt presence in any but the faintest and most mitigated degree would certainly do) would be for Him useless. He cannot ravish. He can only woo. For His ignoble idea is to eat the cake and have it; the creatures are to be one with Him, but yet themselves; merely to cancel them, or assimilate them, will not serve. He is prepared to do a little over-riding at the beginning. He will set them off with communications of His presence which, though faint, seem great to them, with emotional sweetness, and easy conquest over temptation. But He never allows this state of affairs to last long. Sooner or later He withdraws, if not in fact, at least from their conscious experience, all those supports and incentives. He leaves the creature to stand up on its own legs — to carry out from the will alone duties which have lost all relish. It is during such trough periods, much more than during the peak periods, that it is growing into the sort of creature He wants it to be. Hence the prayers offered in the state of dryness are those which please Him best. We can drag our patients along by continual tempting, because we design them only for the table, and the more their will is interfered with the better. He cannot “tempt” to virtue as we do to vice. He wants them to learn to walk and must therefore take away His hand; and if only the will to walk is really there He is pleased even with their stumbles. Do not be deceived. Wormwood. Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy’s will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys.

But of course the troughs afford opportunities to our side also. Next week I will give you some hints on how to exploit them.

The meditation given by gurinder Singh dhillon and jassdeep , of RSSB , is evil and satanic. Gurinder has said in his satsangs ( which supposed to mean the company of truth – lol ) that if you say the word apple an image of an apple would appear in your minds eye. The first name given in rssb initiation is ‘jot nirunjan’ which means light of the devil. The obvious question is why are you told to repeat the names of demons? Surely you are summoning demons, and inviting a possession. Further more All meditations are of lord Shiva, who is a demon hindu God, known as the God of meditations. All these meditations lead to satan / Shiva/ the negative power. So never repeat any names given by anyone. Just closing your eyes to relax is all you need – keep it simple. Gurinder and Jasdeep , the EPSTEIN babas of beas , your exposed as working for the wrong team and there will be god given consequences.

Wow! So much self-delusion based on blatant falsehoods here.
Hello! Kranvir! Niranjan = literally means without blemish. It does NOT mean ‘of the devil’.

In the Jap Ji Guru Nanak uses it as a name for God.

      ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
      Æsaa naam niranjan hoé.
Such is the Name of the Immaculate.
Guru Nanak, Jap Ji Adi Granth page 3, Line 6.

      On p age 156, Line 1
      ਜਪਸਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਰਚਸਿ ਮਨਾ ॥
      Japas niranjan rachas manaa.
Meditate on Niranjan, absorb your mind.
      Guru Nanak Dev

On page 10, Line 17 of the AG the fourth guru Ramdas says this:

      ਸੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
So purakh niranjan har purakh niranjan har agmaa agam apaaraa.
That Being Niranjan, God (Hari), the Being Niranjan [Immaculate] is inaccessibly unreachable and indescribable.
      Guru Ram Das

This has GOOGLE AI to say:

AI systems typically summarize information about Guru Rampal (born Rampal Singh Jatin) based on two sharply contrasting perspectives: those of his devoted followers and official legal/news records.

          1. Spiritual Identity and Teachings

According to his followers and official channels like Jagat Guru Rampal Ji, he is considered the incarnation of Kabir. Key aspects of his teachings include:

          Worship of the Supreme God:
He asserts that Kabir is the Supreme God and that other deities (such as Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva) cannot grant complete salvation (moksha).

          Social Reform:
He preaches against social evils such as the dowry system, alcoholism, meat consumption, and untouchability.

          Scriptural Evidence:
He claims his teachings are based on a “correct interpretation” of the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, and Quran.

          2. Legal Controversies
News sources like the BBC and Wikipedia depict him as a controversial figure who clashed with the Indian government:

          Murder and Violence:
He was accused of involvement in a 2006 fatal incident at his ashram in Karontha.

          2014 Siege:
In November 2014, his refusal to appear in court led to a violent standoff between thousands of followers and police at his Barwala ashram, resulting in several deaths.

          Life Imprisonment & Recent Updates:
Rampal was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018 for murder and conspiracy.
However, as of late 2025, reports indicate the Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended his sentence in specific cases pending further appeal.

          3. Digital Presence and AI Use
His organization actively uses modern technology to spread his message:

          AI-Generated Content:
Various “AI Versions” and English Dubbed Satsangs are produced using AI to make his spiritual discourses accessible in multiple languages.

          Prophecies:
Followers often cite Nostradamus or other prophecies to argue he is the predicted “World Deliverer”.

          Kaal was created by Dayal!
Not by anything else. Kaal didn’t create itself!
          … … … …
All of the so-called ’rulers’ or creator-administrators of lower ’realms of awareness’ (the i.) spiritual-mental: ii.) the mental; ii.) the mental-material; and the material) are ALL manifestations of Dayal (not Kaal).
It is like reflections of reflections of increadingly dimmer reflections of Reality.
          … … … … …
So although it is relatively correct to describe Niranjan as a mainfestation of Kaal, it as equally correct to refer to that concentration of divine power as a lower manifestation (reflection) of the Supreme Being.
The difference is merely one of perspective.
          … … … …
To ’spiritually’ evolve, the illusory, individual-being-in-bondage (jivatma) must recognise and cross over its own bindings / limiting identifications.
That isn’t achieved by denying them, demonising them nor by HATING them as you are doing.
The ”spiritual’ evolution or ”way’ or ’journey’ to the Anurag sagar (ocean-being of Love) is traversed by becoming more loving (bhakti marg).

    @ RS

If you do some research , maybe using AI, you will find that there are some very radical religious groups in India that fulminate against meditation and the use of the names of deities.

In the west to, but in a much smaller scale and not that rabiate

Meditation of the devil Gurinder Singh Dhilion, Jassdeep fake Baba and the evil Radha Soami Cult

Religion is so wrong and not necessary
As we see in the world today, it is the very root of all evil.

Wars, hate, killing, greed all of it, you can thank religion for it

Take Radha Soami and Gurinder Singh Dhilion he himself says we’re not a ” re lie gion “, he knows but at times still uses we are a religion as in the building of the Australian satsang centre building , Gurinder just lied, to get his way again

Radha soami shows us all that religion is a deceptive way of luring and getting the world to do, what they want.

Who are they? The slim balls we know as Baba, as in Gurinder Singh Dhilion who lies for a living on stage and never does as he preaches.
Stealing and bullying the poor just so they can have they’re full. Tax frauding, Land Stealing, even robbing his own relatives the list never ends.. oh and now Drug pusher too

Is there one thing that Gurinder Singh dhillon has done right by?
No, and how could he when he’s batting for himself and his evil ways

And why is there a need for a New religion like Radha Soami when there where so many others created thousands and thousands of years ago?

Are they all wrong now and were they never the truth?

So Gurinder Singh Dhilion has now come with the truth and all the other religions are a total lie?

Gurinder has now showed the ugly truth by being so Exposed and riddiculed like P.diddy and Epstein that he never was what we thought he was.

Ugly as it may be but its the truth and we should now except what is starring us in the face blatantly

    Named and Shamed Baba

Religious organisations like Radha Soami should be shut down and the Baba like Gurinder Singh Dhilion sentenced for the crimes they have committed

Now we have the new fraudy Baba Jassdeep trying his hand at what Gurinder made a luxurious lifestyle of power and greed , soon we will hear of him also and the wicked and nasty things he’s gone and done too.
They’re all the same , no shame

This World would and still can be somewhat a better place if this evil
Baba and Cults are wiped of the face of the planet earth

    Scum gone forever
