One wild and precious life

Thanks to fellow Oregon blogger Rain, I came across this image and adapted excerpt from Mary Oliver's poem, "The Summer Day."

Nice. Read the short poem, which a poetry blog says is about the act of attention being a form of prayer.

I liked the poem's ending — a bit different from the words in the wave-tossed image:

Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
