Here’s another guest blog post from Anon, an ex-RSSB initiate. RSSB stands for Radha Soami Satsang Beas, an India-based religious organization headed up by a guru that I belonged to for 35 years, which explains my interest in sharing criticisms of the faith that I also found lacking. GSD stands for Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the current RSSB guru. S*** stands for shit (but I’m sure you could have guessed that). I really enjoyed what Anon wrote. Both humorous and sad.
Here’s a list of s*** I heard at RSSB during my time there. It stuck with me for a reason and it’s interesting to revisit these specific moments which are forever burned in my mind. Enjoy.
GSD (on vegetarianism): Well even Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian…
RSSB Crowd: WOW, see even HITLER was a vegetarian. That’s how we know it’s RIGHT (prideful smiles)
(GSD at one time later started doing a Nazi salute regularly at the crowd. This was definitely a phase. They all just laughed.)
Satsangi: What should happen if a woman is raped and ends up pregnant? There’s a huge stigma against single mothers in India…
GSD (on abortion): Well what has the child done? Why should they suffer? The child is innocent.
Satsangi: What should I do, am I allowed to be here – I’m GAY
GSD (on homosexuality): We need to ask ourselves what is the purpose? What is the PURPOSE of being gay? It can’t lead to children so what is the purpose?
Satsangi: Guru, I work on a ship, I’m away for extended periods of time, and I’m allergic to pornographic movies.
GURU: JUST STOP.
Satsangi: My child is severely allergic to lots of foods. (Gives a list of basically every single food item known to man). There is limited things she can eat. But I really want to raise her in this path. But she cannot eat much food. She is OK with meat. Can she eat meat? Is it ok?
GSD: NO. VEGETARIAN
Satsangi: But my child cannot eat anything…
GSD: VEGETARIAN
(just kept repeating that)
Anyone: I have health problems which prevent me from sitting cross legged in the position for extended periods of time
GSD: SIT ON A CHAIR
Satsangi: Babaji I can’t meditate
GSD: WHY NOT
Satsangi: I can’t
GSD: WHY NOT
Satsangi: Well 2.5 hours is a long time. I do all the house chores, all the cooking, all the cleaning, raise the kids, plus I work- I don’t have 2.5 hours
GSD: BUT YOU HAVE TIME TO WATCH TV. BUT YOU HAVE TIME TO SOCIALISE. STOP WATCHING TV AND SOCIALISING AND MEDITATE INSTEAD.
Satsangi: Babaji I can’t do the complete meditation. 2.5 hours is a long time
GSD: TWO AND A HALF HOURS
Satsangi: I have a busy job it’s long hours it’s heavy shift work I’m working all hours I’m exhausted
GSD: TWO AND A HALF HOURS
(just kept repeating this)
GSD (on the guru): This is what you satsangis are all like. You say I’m hungry and you want a plate of food. Then you say ‘Guru put the food in my mouth’. Then you say ‘Ok guru crunch my jaw’. Then you will ask me to digest it for you! You are all so lazy.
GSD (to the entire crowd): When I came here, I went into the shower, someone had turned the water onto total HOT. I nearly burned myself! I said turn the water down! I know you are all constipated in this country, but that’s no excuse. You’re trying to burn me!
Satsangi: Everyone is treating me really badly they disrespect me they shout at me
GSD: DO NOT REACT AND DO NOT ANSWER BACK
(just kept repeating that)
Satsangi: How come all the Gurus are men?
GSD: Women go through enough!
GSD: Sister you will know if you’re on the right path because you’ll feel it. Just like you know when you enter a room if the light is on or off. You’ll feel if your spirituality is on or off.
Satsangi: So how do I know if it is turned on?
GSD (wry smile): So you want to be…. turned on? 😉
Group of satsangis
Satsangi: So did you hear about the guy who DIED at RSSB doing construction seva?
Others: Yeah
Satsangi: Yeah, apparently his family are SUING!
ALL GASP
Satsangi: They say they want RSSB to be held accountable for the death of their family member. They are not Radhasoami!
ALL GASP
Satsangi: Well he died in the right place!
All in unison: Yes!
Group of men sitting down at seva:
Satsangi: Boys, let’s go OUT. LETS GO OUT! (assuming to party, get drunk)
Guru walks in hands folded – addresses a young pretty girl: “You must have all these boys wrapped around your little finger” – walks off
Satsangi 1: The Guru came in and talked to her! He didn’t talk to me! Only her!
Satsangi 2: Wow did he really? What did he say?
Satsangi 1: He called her a slut! The Guru is only talking to her because she is a slut!
Satsangi 2: Did he say that to her?
Satsangi 1: Yeah!
Me: What happened to your seva group?
Satsangi: So my friend, was standing on the stairs and this man came up to her to chat and he touched her up. She told me. I told her to tell someone. She did. Babaji’s security found out and said ‘I’m going to write his name on a piece of paper and if it’s him you just nod’. It was the same man, she nodded. And the man was banned from coming here.
Me: Wait? So they already KNEW who it was?!
Satsangi: Yeah. He’s done it before like 3 times apparently….
Me: Well it’s good they listened and did something I guess… finally…
Satsangi: She says she wishes she said nothing. Now everybody is blaming her and saying ‘you cost that man his seva!’.
Me: What? Is she ok?
Satsangi: I don’t know. Because she just said that I told her to do it. Everyone else is talking to her now, and she isn’t talking to me anymore. None of them are.
STUNNED SILENCE
My initiation interview (3 hours long – key highlights)
-Every saint has a past. And every sinner has a future… so don’t feel bad.
-WHEN DID YOU LAST HAVE SEX? IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS?
-The path is not about renouncing the world. You have to live in this world. But you have to renounce it. But quietly. Just within yourself. Not run off in the forest in a pajama and leave everything behind. Don’t do that! I will get in trouble if you do that!
-NO, YOU HAVE NOT UNDERSTOOD THE PATH (proceeds to approve me for initiation)
-One time I met Charan Singh. He was so beautiful. He was talking to me and he blew me a kiss. I felt so amazing. I felt so good. (THIS WAS A HETERO MARRIED MAN!)
Satsangi: I feel a lot of pressure I don’t like that we are forced to do all this and forced to come here
GSD: WHO SAYS I WANT YOU HERE. WHO SAYS EVEN I WANT TO BE HERE. YOU ALL GO HOME AND THEN I CAN GO HOME.

Hit the nail on the head Anon. There are 100s of QnA videos on Youtube and every single damn question is I can’t meditate, what should I do. Please bless me and my family. Annoys me to no end. The RSSB have poisoned the minds of many by saying that intellect is in the way of enlightenment. People cannot simply think (because apparently its the domain of Kaal…)
Absolutely pathetic this concept of blind faith is. Millennia of civilization and we still keep falling for gods and godmen…
Thank you Brian and Anon for this… here are a few of my personal favourites, and by personal, I mean either personal to be or I personally heard.
1. Personally heard:
Questioner: Baba Ji, I suffer from Bipolar and am on heavy medication to manage it. My psychiatrist also tells me I should sleep for at least eight hours a night. I also have a family and a job – I can’t find the time to meditate for 2.5 hours.
GSD: There is no such thing as Bipolar, depression and all this mental health nonsense everyone talks about these days. Sleep less and meditate. Meditation is better than sleep.
2. Personally asked:
Questioner (me): Baba Ji, what is your opinion on wearing leather as we are vegetarian.
GSD: You can use other man-made products, you do not need to wear animals. As a vegetarian, do not wear leather.
Note: GSD Puma’s, which he always wears, are made of leather. I have the female version. Double standards much?
Questioner (me during a private interview – I was struggling enormously): Baba Ji, I was sexually abused for 10 years during my childhood – from age 4 to 14. I have mental health struggles with PTSD, Bipolar, suicidal ideation etc. I have done an enormous amount of self work to manage the long term impacts of this and have been successful in my healing. Despite that, I still don’t trust other people, least of all men, and I cannot seem to fully trust you. How would that work at the time of death, that I cannot seem to fully trust you as you are a male. What do you suggest?
GSD: Stop worrying about the past and forget it.
Note: My case is the one of the worst my counsellor and psych had ever encountered. Surely an ‘all knowing’, supposedly compassionate spiritual master would know this and have some shred of understanding. Apparently not. He was cold. He did not care. This was strike 1 in me leaving RSSB.
And then another situation, one that happened with the Chairman of the local board and several other initiates:
“If you don’t take the COVID vaccine, you obviously don’t love the master”.
Well, a spiritual path has nothing to do with our personal health choices or needs. A cult does. At that point, I finally decided to leave the cult.
This is Anon.
I felt a genuine comment and response was needed. I’m nobody, just an ordinary regular person but I’d like to say:
Firstly I’m so so very sorry for all that you went through. It was not your fault. You did not deserve that at all. Trust is very important and I am sorry people let you down.
Secondly….
Congratulations for making it out. You deserve nothing but peace, love, joy, happiness, safety, and respect. I hope none of this ever happens again to you – it’s over now and it will stay gone.
Anon
Thank you Anon x – your reply is so truly appreciated and kind! Thank you again!
I truly believe that positive character – kindness, respect, understanding etc. – those qualities supersede any ‘path’ one may hind behind. You clearly have those qualities.
Master Ching Hai…🙏
I will die laughing!!😜😜😜😜

Gurinder has generated 36 years of Cow patties , that J.S. Gill has stepped in to, or should we say, has been thrown in to, and now has to figure out how to store, or use them.
Does that tell you enough about my friend Gurinder? Because I have a lot more where that came from. Maybe he’s the only one on Earth that meditates for two and a half hours a day and still he turns out to not be a good person so what good is meditation. Even Hitler can go to heaven if he meditated . I’ve heard that said before. That’s the dichotomy. I also told my friend Gurinder that if the hairs on the body are numbered then so are the breaths allowed in a lifetime. That’s not free will. I don’t believe in free will. If there is Free Will Gurinder chose to be a bad person. 😂😂. Develop a sense of humor if you don’t have one , that’s your best friend.
If this quote I just came across was taken on board, then for exes like anon, the whole issue of gurus and their teachings would fade away: –
“I have searched everywhere to find an answer to my question, ‘Is there enlightenment?’ but have never questioned the search itself. Because I have assumed that goal of enlightenment exists, I have had to search. It is the search itself which has been choking me and keeping me out of my natural state. There is no such thing as spiritual or psychological enlightenment because there is no such thing as spirit or psyche at all. I have been a damn fool all my life, searching for something which does not exist. My search is at an end.”
U.G. Krishnamurti
” Quit looking and you might find it. I did. My search is at an end too but that doesn’t make me Krishna. Live and let live. Is the sound current enlightenment? I don’t know .”
Ronald
RSSB has never told initiates that they can only feed their kids veg food. Charan’s books cover this topic; vegetarianism is encouraged, but not demanded of family members.
According to YouTube vids (but not any news site), a sevadar did die at the Dera. That is all we know about this alleged event — but it might never have happened. If the dubiously reliable Indian media haven’t mentioned a juicy event, methinks it likely didn’t happen. As for people getting injured or dying during construction, yes, these things inevitably happen. So….what are we talking about?
Uncertainty aside, here’s something that indisputably did happen: You knew everything about RSSB and signed up anyway.
So really, you’re not morally different from Charan or Gurinder, or the satsangi who rejoices when the guru blows them a kiss. Maybe it’s time to stop pretending the RSSB guru kidnapped you. He didn’t.
@Sant64
You seem to have forgotten that this accident happened, and what followed looked very much like a cover-up.
I was told by someone on the inside that after the accident, a call was made to GSD informing him about what had happened. Despite the police instructing everyone at the site not to touch anything because there was a lot of evidence at the accident scene, GSD allegedly instructed that everything be removed.
The so-called sevadars followed his instructions and cleared the site, removing potential evidence.
Later, RSSB was fined £500,000 by the court. The question is—who actually paid that fine? It certainly didn’t come from GSD’s personal pocket. It was paid using the hard-earned donations of ordinary people.
I’m not sure what ultimately happened with the family of the man who died, although at the time they were reportedly planning to sue RSSB.
There are also widespread claims that RSSB has been used for money laundering. In the UK, there is supposedly a limit of about £10 million in donations, yet their financial statements suggest much larger flows of money.
I’m not going to go into the alleged involvement of the dentist’s family in this whole situation. You’re intelligent—if you make a few inquiries, you may uncover the truth yourself. Look into how shell companies were created every year, their connections with the Singh brothers’ companies, and how certain individuals allegedly acted as dummy directors for GSD.
The inner circle is extremely tight. But if someone manages to get inside it, they might discover the real truth about GSD and the organisation.
@ WasRSSB.No More.
I, for one, am very sorry that , not only were you abused from age 4-14, but how GSD brushed off your plea for empathy, and pushed you away, further down the dark hole.
You should be thanked by all readers here, in Brian’s Church , to have the courage to come forth and share your wounds!
I do hope you continue to heal from these wounds, and have found Professional help , as well as a Support group to help you to continue healing.
Thank you Jim x – I truly appreciate your acknowledgement and care. I have worked extremely hard to manage the impact that trauma (all of it) has had on my life, with the help of genuinely caring, experienced and wonderful professionals. It’s an ongoing journey and always will be. Thank you once again and all the very best to you x
Anon, you start in a very interesting way:
“Here’s a list of s*** I heard at RSSB during my time there. It stuck with me for a reason and it’s interesting to revisit these specific moments which are forever burned in my mind. Enjoy.”
Does re-telling the perceived shortcomings of others bring joy to anyone?
More to the point, Anon, what will it take so that these negative moments are no longer “forever burned in my mind?”
That is very sad. You should most certainly not be burdened by these things in your mind, that come back to you “forever”. Free yourself from this prison. So that one day if anyone asks, you can just say with a smile “I have no idea, I had no idea, and it hardly matters anymore.”
But if you cannot, find help from someone you love and respect. Not to help you replace hate for hate. Not someone who encourages anger or hatred. But who is of something finer that is far more valuable than these things forever burning within your own mind. So valuable, that you find it easy just to forget and stay ever focused on the object of your love.
Become that love, Anon. Love is stronger than hate, but it is work.
This is why, as a Satsangi, I love Simran and Bhajan breaks throughout the day.
When my mind is in Simran, love poetry to my Master, and I listen to the Sound of Nam throughout the day as I work and play, these things replace….
Anger
Depression
Sadness
Attachment
Resentment
Jelousy
Hatred
Obsession
Fear
Anxiety
Terror
And in place of all these things…Simran only give me these things:
Love
Inspiration
Creativity
Acceptance
Flexibility
Adaptability
Courage
Compassion
You can’t adapt to today burdened with yesterday. You can’t see others burdened with these scars burned into your mind.
Of course, we all have them. Lifetimes of them.
They must be cleaned away to really be free, Anon.
And loving someone you can see is worthy, however much work that requires, is most certainly a bargain.
And what is the cost of letting go of yesterday?
Giving up the career of complaint. Yes, many make a career of it.
But it’s not good for you.
Freedom is beyond compare to any of these negative things.
I don’t say it doesn’t take work to wash those things away.
But you have the tools within you.
And you will feel so much better, and clearer.
Acceptance
Adaptation
Submission
Surrender
But for all that to work, you must find the One to whom you can’t help but surrender. The One you want and need, must have, to get through even the next moment.
The One whose company makes life livable, and even pleasant. Even amazing.
If writing them down here helps you get rid of them, that’s great.
But if it doesn’t then I do have a suggestion.
Don’t shout at the darkness. That will never bring light.
Find the light, find what you love more than yourself. Find what is more compelling, in the positive, in the good, than these chains that bind you from your own mind.
And spend as much time in complete devotion to that. Give yourself to that.
A visit to the cathedrals of Europe, and most importantly, learning of their history, teaches an incredible lesson. The cathedrals took centuries to complete.
The workers, the craftspeople who built these amazing, spacious, elegant and awe inspiring constructions knew that what they were building would not be complete in their lifetime. They knew they would be leaving this incomplete, for another generation to add to. They knew the people in the church were just human beings, even the priests they respected, still, were human beings with feet of clay, just like all of us. They knew. They heard the arguments between designers, artisans and suppliers. They saw their blindspots and shortcomings.
But they also saw what they were building. Somehow it was far greater than any of these people, though each shared a part of a vision that was far greater than the person who held that vision. They knew this because they knew themselves.
Love something greater than yourself. Not something you can own. Not something you have to finish or complete.
Why did Galileo share his results on his deathbed? He knew how people would react. He had a duty to his own purpose. His writings were not a criticism of anyone. They were the precise dance of stars and planets.
Spend your time with what you love more than yourself.
God can be your purpose, or you can pick another purpose. But make it worthy of your time, noble, pure, high.
Do that. It’s a better use of your time and you will be happier.

Ronald, is the spoken text from a book by Jung?
Probably. It’s just something I liked on YouTube. I like most of the things that they AI him for. But this is to be digested lol . The last thing I posted from YouTube was a Paul McCartney and me under our alias. Electric arguments. The fireman. He said he didn’t get much response until he attached his name his real name to it. Much like Mr Gill never got much of a response until Gurinder attached his name
@ Ronald
I listened to the whole of it .. it was not that simple to digest it…. part as it was in english ..so I will see to listen to it again.
O do agree to the general picture but there is something that is not in accordance with that general picture .. that .. made me ask you whether is was the word of JUNG himself or an elaboration
That’s why I don’t really like the internet because it’s hard to catch the tone of someone’s words when they might be joking. Like when Gurinder said slut , was he being facetious joking or did he want some? Does he ever say ” I don’t know” at the question and answer sessions? Because he doesn’t know many things! That should make people happy that they can inform him. It made me happy that he didn’t know everything.
@ Ronald
It has become my understanding that one can only psychological survive such an position as a human being, by being FREE.
What does that mean ..FREE
What happens when an other person addresses himself or herself to one?!
He or she throws an rope, a rope that is intended to be grasped so that the pulling can start.
But if the end of the rope is never grasped at the usual interaction can not unfold and the one that ythrew the rope might easily become frustrated [ just to chose a word]
If you listen to a couple of Q&A session, against what I wrote, You can easily discover that for example the late MCS was indeed a FREE human being, he had mastered that role of “not grasping” to perfection. ..It was impossible however clever however emotional charged your question, you you could not “force” him to take the rope .. in order to pull or be pulled.
His secratary, a kind, devoted human being, did his best too not to pick up the ropes but he could not … sometimes he could not resist the “call of the sirene” and would react
I am gratefull to have had the importunity in life to experience thos mechanism performed in such an way
If you love someone more than yourself then you put up with all their demands and comments, especially those that make absolutely no sense to you, especially the painful ones, the hurtful ones. You are a sensitive creature, you told yourself. But they tore you away from your own prison.
.At first you did what they asked, however frustrating, out of love, but it’s difficult. You have to ask yourself what you are getting out of all this. And then you realise that love isn’t a financial transaction. You are happy to receive zero, nothing, a complete vacuum. And then the surprise happens, your first real awakening, when you realise your love for them comes from deep within you, not because of anything they did or said. In spite of those things. Your adoration of them is a condition, a magnificent disaster, a disease that takes everything you are and held such pride in and leaves you with nothing. But in that nothing is the entire creation. And the only difference between you and them is that they know it. Now, when you see it. When you embrace with space, even no space, you are truly free of your own constructed prison. Your passion, that you didn’t want, that you rejected, but could not reject, has saved you.
You have to put aside your limited understanding. In time you realise you misunderstood. And then doing whatever they ask is a pleasure. Being free is such a great wealth that you can finally accept them, and accept you, as they are. Both. All.
Being free makes it easy. Love someone greater than yourself. Find them. Die daily in their company.
Put wishful poetry in one hand and shit in the other and then with folded hands make a sandwich.
Hi Ron
You wrote
“Put wishful poetry in one hand and shit in the other and then with folded hands make a sandwich.”
Jung might call that the recipe of the wounded healer, that having arisen from their own difficulties actually gives someone the power to help others heal. But unlike the ’empath’ (Jung used the term introvert, not empath), the wounded healer willfully, purposefully reintegrates dark and light within themselves, rather than projects onto others that ‘darkness’.
If you find someone you love more than yourself, you risk losing the boundary between you and them. But if you take responsibility for your own reactions, there is no more boundary. That’s reintegration. And I say it is a state of liberation.
It all starts with accepting that both poetry and shit, the whole sandwich, is in you. The way out is in.
And you’re telling me this because you thought I didn’t know that? Well thanks anyway. This site has the age old configuration of too many chefs in the kitchen. Everybody wants to be a teacher except the teacher and he doesn’t want to even be here. (Talking about Gurinder who definitely reads this page for amusement and actual knowledge but he doesn’t even want to be at the Dera he said he’d rather put on a cowboy hat and be in Texas)
Hi Ron
You wrote
“And you’re telling me this because you thought I didn’t know that?”
Why do I say and do what I do? Even I don’t know. Does it matter? Does Gurinder matter to you? That’s between you and him, isn’t it?
Or, if you like Carl Jung, that’s between you and you.
Redundant but true nonetheless

@ Ronald etc
I asked Google’s AI, based on the gut feeling that something to be wrong whether the words in that video were the words of young. This is the response I got:
It’s a logical doubt to have, as these videos often look very “official.”
The text in this specific video is not by Jung himself, but a modern interpretation and adaptation of his ideas, flavored with contemporary pop-psychology.
Here are the main reasons why this isn’t Jung’s work:
The concept of the “Empath”:
Jung never used this term in the way it’s used online today (as a specific spiritual or unique personality type). He spoke about introversion/extraversion and the four functions (thinking, feeling, sensation, and intuition).
The writing style:
The language in the video is much more direct and simple than Jung’s academic, often complex and symbolic writing style.
The source:
Channels like “Carl Jung Original” often use Jung’s name as a “brand” to lend authority to general psychological advice or spiritual texts. The script was likely written by a modern writer (or AI) applying Jungian concepts like the ‘shadow’ or ‘projection’ to modern relationship issues.
It is more “inspired by” than an actual quote. The core idea—that people project their own dark sides (the shadow) onto others who appear morally upright—is an authentic Jungian principle, but the specific elaboration in the video is modern.
Would you like me to find an authentic text by Jung on projection or the shadow so you can see the difference in style?
No thanks, I get the gist. I could do that myself too if I was really interested . I still find everything they said to be true.
@ Ronald
The question was part of the AI reaction .. i should have deleted it
You are right your interests are self sufficiënt and do not need any comment ..

No thanks, I get the gist. I could do that myself too if I was really interested . I still find everything they said to be true.

@Ronald,….you linked a YT video that I watched when you wrote,……” But here’s the dude that really knocks me out”.
Ironically, that dude looks like the one I saw in an Astral Projection I had recently! But that dude wasn’t playing a guitar. He was meditating with a group of others.
Do you know that dude? He looked real weird, kind of like Rip Van Winkle , after waking up from a long dream.
