It’s been a couple of months, but they’re back!
Below is another in a series of guest blog posts from Anon, an ex-RSSB initiate. RSSB stands for Radha Soami Satsang Beas, an India-based religious organization headed up by a guru that I belonged to for 35 years, which explains my interest in sharing criticisms of the faith that I also found lacking.
RSSB teachings since 1890 speak about meditation (through books, gurus, sermons, satsangs). RSSB meditation is the way to burn your karmas, the way to escape reincarnation and future rebirths, the path to enlightenment, requirement for salvation, way to unlock your third eye, way to see celestial visions, way to hear heavenly music, method to see heavenly regions, way to access the guru’s radiant spiritual form.
RSSB public website FAQS in 2026 (see screenshot below) say that meditation:
-Does not change your destiny
-Does not change your karmas
-The only transformation is inner strength and equanimity (means calm)
-The end goal is just to deal positively with adversities that may come in life.
WTF? I can get that shit anywhere.
I’m not surprised RSSB hired a former professional executive Chief Strategy Officer as the next guru, because they need a fucking strategy. These shape-shifting teachings are just absolutely ridiculous at this stage (ahem, CULT alert). People DO use their brains and the internet (telling people not to isn’t a strategy either!).
Don’t blame the Internet or ex-members or social media or modern tech or questioning/doubters- that direct quote came from their own RSSB website.

I had both those poser gurus in one place just a few miles down the road so I knew where not to be for two days in a row. I don’t need to watch people’s glowing faces looking at power mongers.

I’ve talked to GSD at length as I’ve stated before. I’ve never seen a more go along to get a long so-called guru in my whole life. And I’ve seen quite a few gurus, so called. But this guy takes the cake. He never wanted to be a guru which was the only reason I gave him a chance. He told me ” my uncle gave me a golden watch that I didn’t think I deserved”. So now he’s retired for real and wishes he had never wasted all that time being a guru on that path. It makes me appreciate all the years of sex drugs and rock and roll and freedom I experienced. What better way to pay off your karma. Boogie children.

Your comments reflect a misunderstanding about karma and this has become a misunderstanding of the teachings. The teachings of all Saints include the distinction of three types of karma, or sin. It is sin only by the criteria that it keeps us from full attention on our own liberation.
1. The Kriya or “created” karma, which we create through our actions in this life. Living by the vows greatly reduces the karma we are creating. That changes our life into a harmless one, and that has an immediate effect on our future.
2. Sinchit, or “Storehouse” of karma that is the vast accumulated karma over eons each of us carries. From that Storehouse, the Karmas we are living through in this life are pulled.
3. That allotment pulled for this life from our storehouse is “Predestined” for this life or Pralabdh karma.
Saints throughout time have told us that only through meditation can we eliminate the vast storehouse of karma, Sinchit. Using the Holy Word, the Audible Spirit, which we become attached to within through the Grace of the Master.
“Our stored karmas will take us from this life to another one.”

We merely need to keep listening to the audible Holy spirit and that Holy Word will burn all the chaff of our Sinchit Karmas. But there is a catch. We must do our part: the vows we took to lead a harmless drug free and responsible life, and our meditation.
Notice the lifestyle and the meditation only addresses two of the three kinds of karma.
Our predestined karma we must go through. That is, however rearranged by our Master, and that rearrangement, combined with our meditation, makes the experience of those things much lighter, however heavy they may appear to others.

Peace will return within you
And the negative power will lose its hold on you.
Then, when your past actions catch up with you,

Nothing could be kinder then getting simple facts right. You must determine what you believe, and everyone will have their own version, really their own theology. No one interprets it completely right. Is there a right? There is most certainly one’s own take, and that is about as sacred a thing as one has, though it is a growing understanding, a changing thing, as it should be.

The problem, and the heaviness come in when we try to make judgements of other people or the teachings they hold as sacred.
It’s pretty easy to discuss teachings printed in books. That is actually much lighter. Then, instead of judging something wrong or right we can simply discuss which interpretation is a more accurate reflection of those teachings.
Much lighter.
And it’s easy to misunderstand. Our whole journey, which raises consciousness, raises awareness, with every step makes our past understanding deeper, and often our past understanding obsolete in light of a new understanding.
That’s a wonderful thing. Whatever gets you there is great. Keeping our eye on liberation, that’s the common goal we all pursue, one way or another.
I like the different flavors, to each their own. But if we are going to discuss some specific teachings, it always better to judge our own understanding first, because that, at least for me, has generally been where the fault lay.
And that is a very light burden, Ronald. Because we can change our opinion in a heartbeat, if we are willing to let facts speak for themselves. And where there really are no facts, then we can lighten our own burden by simply not thinking or judging it. No thought is a great place to go, and often!
It costs us nothing. Holding on to grudges, though, that is very expensive.

One thing that blows my mind about these people that seem to know so much about the path and have been following this bearded lady for years , they’ve never heard the Sound. And if it wasn’t for Charan Singh I wouldn’t have either. But I can tell anyone that wants to listen how my mind was blown by what little knowledge Gurinder Singh Dhillon possessed 20 years ago when I talked to him. Maybe he’s wised up by now but now he’s just going to retire and hide out of shame as someone said . Donkey Dhillon. I like that. But as Sawan Singh reincarnated (and yes GHD verified it to me in writing) I know all about karma but I paid most of mine before I got here this life. But maybe he was kidding and it doesn’t really matter. Just like Charan Singh said ,meditation can be dangerous. It all depends on what gun the bullet is fired from or if it’s just fired from a slingshot like Gurinder. Before I digress let’s get back to these longtime meditators that have never heard the Sound but yet can’t wait to go to satsang and India over and over again. I’ve heard it and it’s Beautiful and it’s nothing to balk about. But the more I brag about it the less I hear it. And you can’t spend 24 hours a day meditating. Or can you? hmm. I admit I’m at a slight advantage being so aloof and cool. But like Gurinder said ,” I’m a very humble person”. What kind of humble person says something like that is what I want to know. Like I said I only have to prove it to myself but Paul McCartney knows too.

All true and all metaphor because many people who reach the respective planes are not East Indian and don’t even speak the language. That’s why you have the written word and physical form of a guru and then you have the unspoken universal Word and the Radiant form of the master and the latters are the only ones that matter after a point between the eyes. How’s a physical form of the master going to do anybody any good when that master dies before you do and you don’t even speak his language ? Something else has pulled you to the Path from within and the physical form of the master who has initiated you into Shabd Yoga has only lit the fuse. And as the fuse burns and the world turns you become one with the guru and the world and you can’t distinguish any difference between he and you. No, most initiates do not believe it. They accept it as provisional only and expect to see these things for themselves eventually through their practice. They are in Sant Mat for a number of reasons, but primarily to do the meditation and find some sanctuary from their own issues. Sometimes, as in my case, they have had some inner experience and find the explanations within Sant Mat the closest to what they experienced, and offering a way to investigate, while growing closer to God. Then there is the Master. For some of us he is magnetic, charismatic. Yes, I’m sorry to admit, that’s how I find Baba Ji. His words, to me, are like lightning bolts of truth. And that’s how I found Maharaji, and now see Huzur. So hopefully you can understand the very, very personal nature of what the path is for us and why we seek initiation and what keeps us going. Words don’t do it justice. It’s the same for Jews, Christian’s, Sikhs and others. They see something, it grabs them. If you read the Bible some of it is incredibly truthful. Other parts are straight immoral, and horrifying. But each is going to see it filtered through their conditioning. So long as thinking is the filter, we get an altered version. Altered to our tastes.
Each person carries their own version of their beliefs, even in the belief in a ‘natural’ world, a world of order ruled by cause and effect. But for others, this place feels very unnatural, not anything like our home, which we find within ourselves to be our true home, the place we feel, finally, at home.
You can see from what Ronald writes, how each person creates their own system of belief. It can’t be helped. If we try our best to get past our own illusory thinking, we touch reality, and get closer to our home. So it’s an ongoing work, just as it is, I would imagine, to live a ‘natural’ atheist life.
Satsangis rarely ever discuss the geography of the higher regions. When you go there you see for yourself. And there is some debate. For example in October’s

What is pure conjecture for you may just be reality for someone else. If spirituality, and Psychology, and living, have taught me anything it is precisely this.
If I say you are living in a dream, and you claim you are living in reality and I am the dreamer, the most we can say is that we live in different worlds.
When you see through the eyes of someone else, someone of different origin, maybe different color, maybe different genetics, different sex, different culture, different experience, you find yourself taking steps back from dogma. It might change your own world view, or it just might change your view of others. Or, if this happens a lot, the poor value of any thinking at all, because such experiences happen without choice, just as part of our natural connection to each other. Not because you don’t have to consider the situation and the reality of others, maybe those who have no voice. Maybe you didn’t have to think because you can understand directly, immediately, and empathy is our natural condition, as parts of the same One, parts who have wandered.
At least I put it in a way that you could understand. Less is more in the music world. I’m always amazed how little people know about their own religion so we don’t need another religion in my book. And every day I write the book.

Brian Ji wrote the book “Life Is Fair” and as it turns out that book is now a central text of Sant Mat.

The myth of deer running toward a mirage! Wild animals rely mostly on smell and local knowledge and are not fooled by thought as we humans are.
